Tuck and Emily are childhood friends, but when tragedy strikes, everything in Tuck's life changes, and he finds himself falling on hard times.
Years passed, and Tuck, and ex con, now finds himself in need of a job.
Emily's career as a singer has taken off, and now, she and her actor Boyfriend are in need of security protection. Queue in Tuck. But will Tuck come through when society collapses before their very eyes? Will he save the day, or will they all die trying to survive?
I really enjoyed this book. It has feels of the Notebook meets The Walking Dead [minus the zombies].
I did find Emily's character a little annoying. She makes a lot of stupid calls, but the overall story was really enthralling!
4 stars 🌟

Fun read and it did make me cry so I can’t fault it too much. But it felt t like it dragged a lot and there we’re definitely places I found myself skimming rather than wanting to read the story

My book review of Heart of the Sun by Mia Sheridan. 2 out of 5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️
It’s a romance book, I have to remind myself. This is why I don’t like romance books. I don’t get the appeal, I don’t understand why people go crazy for them. Romance books essentially are about two people, both finding out things about each other that either involve or don’t involve the other. And then they make choices that impact that other or not.
“Then again, books had been bringing me a measure of comfort for my whole life. Companionship. Distraction. They’d helped me survive my time behind bars.”
In different settings. It just gets so old to me and I am not sure what to do with all of that information.
“He associated the place she’d love with her loos, but to me, it kept a part of her alive.”
