My first introduction to Elena was in Soft Like Thunder, and I had a hard time seeing how she could have her own book and that I could enjoy it. She is however my favorite of this series. Elena has an icy, hard exterior and shows the world one side of her, but really she is incredibly vulnerable and we get to see what has happened in her life to make her who she is. This story definitely contains a number of tropes and situations that I see people again and again ask for. Lachlan is somewhat stoic and reserved but also very alpha and protective, but he fights his attraction to Elena. At one point Elena overhears Lachlan saying mean things about her. This is an opposites attract kind of story and their "relationship" starts as a very casual one. I loved how thoroughly we get to see inside both Lachlan and Elena and what makes them who they are and the pain that both of them have been through and are going through. This is my favorite book in the series so far- I absolutely LOVED it!

Ahhhhh! Julia made me love the Ice Queen. I honestly didn't think it was possible.

I remember saying earlier on in this series that I absolutely despised Elena and it would take a miracle for me to love her. Well, that miracle has occurred and I stand corrected.

Maybe, it was seeing her slowly change over the last few books that helped thaw my heart towards the Ice Queen—perhaps it was seeing behind her perfectly manicured facade that helped—whatever it was, it worked. I am a convert.

It certainly didn't hurt that she had a super nice guy like Lock in her corner or the fact that she was a total badass.

This book was packed with steam, wicked banter, so much tension and grief—and so absolutely riveting—that I did not even register that my partner was talking to me. I legit could not hear him over the awesomeness that was this book.

I’ve been WAITING for Locks book and I was not disappointed. The fwb situation was great and I loved watching him and “Elsa” work through their feelings through it. It was hot hot hot. The steam was amazing. Definitely worth the read.

Wow this is such a brilliant read that you won't be able to put down.
Elena has been the person to hate in the Savage U books from the start but now we find out why.
Lachlan (Lock) has always ignored Elena but when she needs his help he is there for her.
The chemistry between them is off the charts and Lachlan gets to see her soft side that she doesn't show many people.
Could they be anything more when he has put a timeline on their fling?
I loved how they were together but i could also see how easily he could break her heart if he let her go.
So much drama and plenty of emotion with a bit of suspense but also so much love.
I absolutely loved the ending and can't wait for the next book.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

This was the best book in the Savage U series and the Savage Crew series. I have been waiting for Elena's book for so long. It is crazy how we start out hating Elena from the first book from the high school series as the resident mean girl. Throughout both of the series, we get to see other sides to her.

Elena was amazing, and I loved how she owned how horrible she used to be and has changed. Don't get me wrong she can definitely be ruthless, but she will cut a bitch if they cross her friends. She is loyal and strong. She went through a very toxic relationship from the high school series and was raped by that same boyfriend her freshman year college. She experienced trauma and has never enjoyed sex or had an orgasm from sex. Until Locke.

Locke was so dreamy but stubborn. He is not looking for a relationship since he is just finishing college and then moving to Wyoming to run his father's ranch. Locke and Elena have a fling over the weekend while their friends are away, but Locke says it has to stop. Elena is super hurt, but they can't stay away from each other.

Their connection was so hot, and they had some really sweet interactions. The gum in hair scene, Elena sticking up for Locke against mean girls.

They really gave me major Rip and Beth vibes from Yellowstone. Loved this book.

I also loved Julien again in this book. He was a lot more wounded and broken from what happened to him from the previous book. He stands up for Elena a lot in this book and calls Locke on his bulshit multiple times. I can't wait for his book.

TW: mention of previous sexual assault, PTSD, trauma.

4.25. I really did like this one. Elena may be my favorite female MC of the series so far. SURPRISINGLY by biggest issue was with Lock. Which is a bummer because I have loved LOCK. Of all the problems he and
Elena had Lock was probably 96% of them. There were some really sweet moments with the couple too. And I loved seeing all the other characters. Their living situation puts them all in very close proximity.

*ELENA ASKED TO BORROW A WRENCH FROM LOCK

I patted my toolbox. “What do you need a wrench for?” “Do you have one I can use?” “I do. Tell me what it’s for.” Through the dark, she leveled me with a glare. “Murder.”

I hope this series isn’t done. I NEED A JULIEN BOOK!

I absolutely LOVE Elena and Lock! Sweet Like Poison brings Elena full circle and we get to see her in a whole new light. I love how much her character has grown throughout the series. And Lachlan, oh Lachlan! Nobody is perfect, and he certainly proves that as moves towards his eventual redemption.

Savage U continues to be a fantastic series, and I can't wait to see what's next!

What can I say, Elena and Lachlan were just meant for each other.
I was surprised to find myself rooting for this couple. I love that Lachlan refers to her as Elsa, his ice princess and sweet like Poison. Lachlan becomes Elena's mountain man. They just could not get enough of each other. I highly recommend this book if you enjoy slow-burning passion that turns into burning desire and ends with a Happily Ever After!
