This book was really cute and funny, and it was enjoyable not only to the child I was reading with, but to myself, as a 21 year old!
I enjoy all of the pigeon books. They are excellent tools for teaching early readers and ESL students.
Dear Pigeon,
I want a puppy too!!!
Pigeon continues to make me chuckle, even in retrospect.

I love this pigeon. My mom can tell you a story like this about me...involving first a goldfish...and then a bird.
I read this for the "Published When You Were 20" part of my 2020 reading challenge. It was simple and cute, just like the rest of the series.
I can't get enough Mo Willems, and this book is no exception. The pigeon, despite being the simplest-drawn of characters, is as expressive as ever with just a mere widening of the eye or the crook of a leg. Endearing and hilarious. The list on the title page is my favorite part, what with the inclusion of "Anything suede" and "A variety of cheeses". Willems can do no wrong in my eyes.
The Pigeon is back with another self-centred rant, sure to please the young reader. Pigeon is set on getting a puppy all his own. He’ll water it and make sure it stays in the sun to grow. As the book progresses and the reader is not convinced, Pigeon begins a rant that only grows. When something is waiting just off the page, Pigeon quickly changes his tune, unsure what puppy ownership truly entails. Neo laughed about this one, seeing Pigeon really get into a tangle. He’s never had a pet, but knows very well that it is no easy feat, unlike Pigeon.
