This book has such a melancholy tone but truly encompasses every feeling of grief; sadness, anger, desperation, blame, guilt, and so much more. This book follows along as a family works through their grief and the lifelong consequences it has.

Additionally, Kathy’s sister and boyfriend have a connection. Not only that they were both in the car when Kathy died, but they also have an emotional connection. They continue to reconnect and lose contact over the years. At one point, they sleep together.

This book was so well written and does such a good job of portraying the feelings of each character.

This book took me by surprise. Even through a melancholy theme, there were parts that made me laugh.
Three stars only because several things mentioned throughout the book did not get resolved or answered. Almost like… why did this topic (like her health) take up so many words for nothing to come if it?
