I enjoyed this one! I thought the banter between the characters was cute, the little surprise halfway through made my heart happy, and the HEA was

Such a wonderful second chance, hot Alpha man, strong heroine and all the heat you would expect from M. Robinson!

Just love Julian and Autumn!

3.5 stars

Autumn has been in love with her brother’s best friend, Julian, for as long as she can remember. He ends up stealing all her firsts, and then leaves her broken-hearted and distraught.

Ten years later, she’s been hired by his company to help with his public image. When Julian come face to face with her for the first time in a decade, he realises he never stopped loving her and will do anything to keep her this time. But she doesn’t believe him because the last thing he told her was that she was just a fuck to him. Can Julian win her back? Or did he break her heart beyond repair?

Julian truly lived up to his name of alpha CEO! So demanding and growly, just take take take. He clearly loved Autumn so much but I can totally understand why she didn’t believe him at all. I mean, he repeatedly pushed her away any time things started to get too serious between them, and his parting words were soul destroying for her.

They both did their fair share of lying to each other in the past so it’s not quite as cut and dry as “Julian left so he was the bad guy”. And the more that’s revealed the more you realise they’re both to blame for the way things turned out.

It’s told in dual POV and flits back and forth between the past and present. It’s a format that works really well for the story.

Pleeeenty of smut and dirty talk (what else do you expect from an alpha?) with some sweet and heartbreaking moments thrown in too. My only real negative is that I didn’t really see where the emotional side of their relationship came in. Their sexual chemistry was undeniable but the love? Apart from them saying the words I didn’t really

Autumn has loved Julian, her brothers best friend, since she was a little girl. He took her virginity…. Then, at her brothers wedding, he broke her…. And then he left.

Ten years later, as part of her public relations career, she is hired to help the CEO change his image. Julian is that CEO.

To say this is the beginning is a HUGE understatement! From the moment Julian enters the meeting and sees Autumn, his world tilts, yet rights for the first time in ten years. He will never let her go again… but… she hates him for what he did to her.

This book… is so good. What happens in M. Robinsons mind that makes to to the pages of her books, is… not sure what word to use… genius? I love where her brain takes us in every book she’s written, and this book.. I read all but two chapters in one sitting. I had to force myself to put it down so I could get a little sleep for work today. You’re going to love Julian.. even though he’s an a**hole! His heart… well you’ll see. Autumn is his match in every way. They’re explosive in every way.

“If I stayed, I’d make her mine, and I couldn’t do that to them. Not after everything they had done for me.”

Billionaire bachelor Julian Locke came from absolutely nothing bouncing from one crappy foster home to another until he found his best friend Christian and his family to took him in like another son. Christian has a sister.
Autumn. And she was completely smitten by him from moment one.
Throughout the years, her love only grew more fierce and as she went from child to woman, he fell too. But was completely torn in two different directions.
It’s his best friends sister. The one girl that should be off limits.
She’s also part of the only family that ever gave a damn and loved him.
No secret relationships end well and over the course of a few years, and multiple heartbreaks - Julian ended it for good with Autumn for good.
Or so she thought.
10 years later they find themselves in each other’s path once again.

The banter is top notch. It was angsty and gutsy and you really can feel what both characters felt in the moment of anger, sorrow, fear, regret, and so forth.

Now. I know I’ll get haters for this but my least favorite character was the child…
I have four kids. My oldest the same age as the child in this book and he’d be mortified to calling his parents mommy and daddy at age 9/10 years old.
I know my son’s friends would never… at least not admitting to it or say it publicly. But the character felt more like a 6/7 year old to me. Even then… my seven year old would find it “cringe” to call us mamma and daddy.
So to read her character, it was … odd.
Sorry Capri.

This made me cry, i genuinely wasn't expecting that tbh i was only reading it for the smut but DAMN

I loved this book! Just the right amount of spice and a happy ending! Can't beat that!

✅second chance

✅best friend’s little sister

✅forced proximity (Autumn is hired as Julian’s publicist to improve his image)

✅friends to lovers to enemies to lovers

✅billionaire alpha-hole

Can’t say I saw that twist coming… the mmc had major unresolved feelings that flip flopped and gave me whiplash, but I still liked these characters a LOT.
