Reading too many YA novels lately

I've been reading way too many YA novels lately. It's embarrassing, but the good ones remind me of the best john Hughes movies. This book is totally pretty in pink.

I really liked this book. It's just what I needed. Loved Cayman, she was snarky and sassy and adorable. Xander was amazing. The twist made it totally unrealistic, but I don't care. I still totally loved this book.

I have this predetermined notion about Contemporary books that they are going to be so predictable and I'm not going to be surprised.

I WAS SURPRISED!

The last quarter of the book was a page-turner! I couldn't put it down. There is a twist I wasn't expecting that lead to revelations within other relationships between characters.

KASIE WEST...you are a literary genius. Cannot wait to get my hands on some more of Kasie's work (:

Kasie West is new to me and I don't usually read YA literature, but my daughter has a blog and highly recommended this one to me. It did not disappoint. I read it in 2 sittings. I loved the setting (the doll store) and the characters and the "rich v. poor" controversy.

Utterly adorable! This is predictable, as are most of Kasie West’s books, but this one is so sweet and enjoyable. I read it in a day! Good, clean, YA romantic fun.

V easy to read. Ending felt a bit abrupt.

This was a good story, if not a little predictable. Caymen is poor and she falls for a rich boy, even though her mom has warned her about "those boys" her whole life. Drama and misunderstandings ensue, but it was an engaging story.

Muy ligera, bastante clické pero con buenos personajes. Ideal para desconectar un rato.

Super cute easy read. :)

"Feelings can be the most costly thing in the world"

The Distance Between Us was filled with laughter, friendship, family, and romance. But of course, a bit of drama as well. That's Kasie West's style when it comes to her books. It's all fluff, then a bit of pain, but there's nothing really drastic about their situation to worry about. That's why her books are really easy to get in to, and undoubtedly really easy to finish. Her writing style is also simple but really engaging, so it's not difficult to get into her writing.

Another thing with Kasie is when she ends these books, there's some loose ends with the other characters, but I guess that's fine since they're not really the main focus (maybe that's the reason why her books are too short for me?). It's like she wants the readers to conclude about the circumstances by themselves, and that's pretty fine. But since these are stand-alone novels, I sometimes feel like I'm hanging.

Anyway, this book was really really cute. A bit cliche, but cute.
It's a rich guy-poor girl type, with a twist in the end. I can't really give much, without spoiling the plotline.

3.5 or 4 star rating! I couldn't decide which, but it's somewhere along those lines :)
