The vibes!! I loved how atmospheric this was in all the ways, and the characters and the romance and the found family aspect and themes. And the art!!! Rovina Cai's art is so atmospheric and perfect for this book.

Loved every single one of her other books. This one felt so forced and I really had to fight hard not to give up on it. It just dragged on and on and everything was very obvious. The main character felt extremely fake, a very 2 dimensional character who was just walking around miserable all the time acting like a sulky teenager instead of a grown adult. She acted nasty to everyone around her and then acts wrong when they aren't super nice to her. Even the people who are looking out for her and going above and beyond to help her she treats like the dirt under her feet. No sympathy for her whatsoever. If anyone else read and hated it just know that this author's other works are 10 times better.
