Hate You was a messed up story with step siblings Jude and Harper. They were thrown together in an impossible situation. Both of them having their secrets and hidden pasts, angry at each other for their being stuck with one another.
This story had some dark moments and it was crazy at times.

In Hate You we have Jude who comes from a wealthy family’s has an adorable sister, yet he hates his new stepmother and step sister. He sees the stepmother for what she truly is and that is a social climbing gold digger. Jude seems to think that Harper doesn’t fall far from her family tree and all her issues are just her being like her mother. They can’t stand each other, their back and forth fighting escalates to tricks being played, and them getting hurt. Harper has issues that she takes out on the bottle and Jude may hate her but can’t stand to see her drag herself through the mud since that’s his job. Not to give too much away because this story was intense, but after hurting each other over and over again their attraction blooms and bleeds off the pages, yet is their hatred for each other and their own lives too much to break through or are they doomed to fall into self hatred and tragic endings because they can’t let go of the hate? When things take dangerous and tragic turns can they survive it? This author is genius when it comes to creating damaged characters in twisted tales that consume the reader to the end. These tropes may not be for everyone but if you can handle the triggers (warning inside) then this author and story are perfect for avid dark readers and newbies alike.

Firstly, I liked that this book was about some side characters in her Serpents of Cinderhart Academy series. This couple was briefly mentioned during book 2 and now I want to know how they relate to those characters within this world.

As for these characters, I really liked Jude. Harper…. She kind of grew on me but I wasn’t the biggest fan. Meh to her but their relationship ended up being something cute as the booked neared the end. I would like to see how their relationship continues in their new setting.

I wouldn’t call this exactly a stepbrother romance. It was, technically, but they met at 18 and had only recently become siblings. I think it was more “taboo” for the other characters if they were to find out.

This was a quick read, I feel like it mostly introduced some side characters into this world. Hoping they make another appearance and we learn more about them and their (potential) roles.

It would be beneficial if the synopsis noted that this was Hateful Bully rewritten.

I spent the first few pages being like, I have *read* this book. But wait, the publication is date is October 2021. But beat for beat, I *know* I have read this scene, right down to the younger sister popping the potato in her mouth.

All that being said, I think this version was better. I liked the transition from Josiah to Jude and Candy to Harper. I also liked the dropping of the weird stepfather obsession plot, though it made the mom’s actions and the conversation in the pool house (which came much later in Hateful Bully) a little out of place. The camp/reform scenes were cut really short, making it seem like an odd plot device rather than a large part like the original story. Like, they could have had the same scenes being grounded at home.

Hate You is a stepbrother bully romance. This book is a standalone. This book is told from dual points of view by Jude and Harper. Harper's mom starts dating Jude's dad, and Jude despises change. He's mad that Harper is now in his life.

As they are living together, they both find things out about the other, and they kind of go to war against the other. Things happen along the way and Jude starts to have feelings for Harper, and her him, but they still continue on with their bickering.

When they are sent somewhere things happen. Will they be able to get past their hate towards each other? Will they be able to get past what the other did to them? Will they get their happily ever after?

I loved this book and had a hard time putting it down. I had to see what happened next!

This is a fantastic standalone dark bully step-brother romance. I enjoyed the story telling and world building. I had a hard time liking Harper fully in the beginning but she did grow on me. Harper and Jude had chemistry the entire book the was undeniable. Very steamy with no lack of passion

I swear Logan Fox is the queen of bully romance! Loved this addition in the Cinderheart universe with Jude and Harper. It was witty, gritty and had a ton of great banter with plenty of spice. What I loved about this book was the balance between the main characters- they were equally messed up which made their attraction and the twists and turns to their ending even better. This is a very dark book and anyone with triggers should definitely read the author’s warning before proceeding! I received an Advanced Reader Copy and am leaving a voluntary review.

There were elements of this book that I really loved, but a lot that I found annoying.
It went on for a bit if I'm being honest, I skim read the last 20% of it as I was kind of bored at that point.
I found both of the main characters annoying, but I guess you were meant to, I guess it didn't help that I felt zero attachment to both of them because of it.
It was a good book, hence the 3 star rating, but it took me a while to read it, I just didn't have that connection and deep desire to continue at every spare moment I had like other books I've read.
I won't read again, but I did enjoy it.
