My 13 yo self enjoyed this so much that read it in 2 days. The story for her wasn’t cliché coz I hadn’t read many books at the time so it was a surprise every time something happened. Bad, mysterious, supernatural boy in love with the shy, invisible yet gorgeous girl was the most original and shocking thing ever for my young brain.
But now, I have grown and realized it’s not an original story at all and also romanticizes toxic relationships like the 90% of book of the genre, it also is very simple written so you could easily finish it in 1 or 2 days like I did. There’s nothing really new in this story but it does entertain you most of the time coz maybe if the characters and the story had more depth it would make a good book. However, I know I’m not part of the intended audience now and that’s why I don’t think I read it again. It’s just not good for my taste now, but considering how much I loved it when I was younger, I’ll give it 3 1/2 stars

Hush, Hush
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is what I needed to get passed my reading slump, a good all trashy YA book. As I often do with these kinds of books, I did not enjoy the writing style. It was overall annoying, but I was able to look past it.
I loved how captivating it was, and how enjoyable. It really did distract me, as I’m going through some rough times nowadays.
What usually happen with the main protagonist in these books are that they’re overthinking way to much and acting childish. But what can I say? It was what I wanted.
I think this will always be some kind of guilty pleasure, and I stand by that.

Re reading a nostalgic favourite and it was still a good book besides the fact that the main character is quite annoying and does exhibit toxic behaviour. I still love the plot that had cleverly put a fallen angel and nephilium aspects to it. I skim through some parts while reading this cause this is probably my third time reading it. Although I will say this book has a lot of romance cliches. I will say that there is some problematic behaviour in this book in terms of Nora’s and Patch’s relationship that when I first read it when I was younger I didn’t really see it. But I mainly re read it to see if I still love it but I’m not 16 anymore so it’s not the best. Although I still like the main guy (Patch) mainly for his funny flirty banter with Nora. I will say that the characters in this could have been better written but the plot was what really held this book up for 3 stars.

I thought the book was freakin amazing, i dont understand why everyone is bashing on it. The main character was just right she wasnt as stuck up as most characters, and she knew when to give into Patch.
