I absolutely loved Kinsley and Josh in the first Bookworm’s Guide and a fake relationship is a personal favorite so I was looking forward to Holley’s story, but didn't really enjoy it. Holley is nowhere near as fun and funny as Kinsley. In fact, she’s kind of mean and miserable. The first book was full of humor and adorable banter but this one is different. Holley comes off more bitter and cruel than sarcastic and funny. She seemed cool in Kinsley’s book so I wasn’t prepared for this other side of her.

She just isn’t likeable at all. Sebastian was great and I loved the supporting characters as much as in the first book. I’m still going to give Saylor’s story a chance for those reasons, but this book couldn’t have been more disappointing.

This book was so fun! Emma Hart is my go-to for romcoms and this one did not disappoint. I flew through it and laughed out loud quite a few times. I can’t wait for the next in this series!

I read this one right after reading The Bookworm's Guide to Dating, and they are fun and fluffy and light-hearted. However, I feel like some of the second book is just sort of recycled from the first. Holley doesn't seem that much different from Kinsley. Less awkward, but their attitudes are a little over-the-top. I think the author was trying to write playful banter, but both women come off as a little too cringey and angry sometimes. Also, I didn't love that Holley admitted she planned to react in the same way to conflict at 29 that she did at 18. Did she not grow up a little bit?

And this is a minor detail, but the couples in both the first and second books try to find something to watch on Netflix, and both choose Schitt's Creek. I love the show, but it just seemed forced to have an entire conversation about the same real sitcom in both books.

I'm giving it three stars, though, because I do love a lighthearted romance especially one that involves a bookstore and a baseball player.

Tohle bylo takové meh - zápletka nic moc (tohle mělo být fake dating?!?), důvod, proč se hrdinové nebavili, byl fakt trapný... a i když tam byly některé super pasáže, většina byla fakt hrůza.

meh... I liked it a little bit better than the previous one but it was still not that really good of a story.

The female main character was still annoying, although less than the other one, and the story ended abruptly. The protagonists had just solved all their problems and started dating and, next chapter, the book ended.

I also feel like there was not much to the plot itself, once they talked about what really happened that prom night it was pretty clear that there was no reason for the main characters to not be together, so the story was a bit dragged out so that they wouldn't get together quite yet.

I'm really not having luck with these audiobooks lmao. They are entertaining to listen to, but they're not really... good.

I expected more spice since the first book had quite a bit of it, but it was pretty good and cute. Loved the banter
