The first 2.5 chapters are very good, but the rest of the book turns into a platform for the author’s religious beliefs. In the acknowledgments section, he thanks the person who got him to start doing ketamine because the drug trips are what made him edit the book to be more about spirituality.
Graphic: Religious bigotry and Mental illness
Moderate: Drug use and Drug abuse

Read this book for therapy. I appreciate the concept at a high level and agree with many of the philosophical and theoretical aspects of IFS, but I have a hard time connecting with the practical side. In particular the transcribed therapy sessions did not resonate with me.
Minor: Child abuse, Sexism, Eating disorder, Self harm, Racism, Suicidal thoughts, and Mental illness
