While I enjoyed and learned a lot from Gates' last book [b:How to Avoid a Climate Disaster: The Solutions We Have and the Breakthroughs We Need|52908942|How to Avoid a Climate Disaster The Solutions We Have and the Breakthroughs We Need|Bill Gates|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1603822695l/52908942._SX50_.jpg|73626311], this one comes off as unnecessary and mansplaining to me. I still think it's very noble of him to use his wealth and influence in endeavors to alleviate human suffering, but some sentences in this book gave me a chilling sense of "God complex".
Gates summaries the key points to prevent the next pandemic from the very beginning of case reporting & monitoring down to vaccines production & global distribution. These conclusions all seem very self-evident to me and a lot of these action items simply boil down to more healthcare spending. Still interesting for a quick read as it's a short book, but nothing truly insightful.

Excellent suggestions from a global leader in health with decades of experience. The US could easily fund the GERM team. Hopefully it can be implemented.

I gave this a 3, because the information is GREAT, but it's information that needs to be given to people that can do something with it, and who actually will. That's not likely going to happen with a book form, sadly.
