For the last few months I have been reading a lot of heavy, depressing books filled with hardships, sorrow and misery. In the mood for an inspirational summer read, I reached for this one. It is of course predictable but quite charming regardless, narrated by a varied cast of characters that are vivid and loveable. It was an excellent selection for what I was seeking.
“Man is the only creature who refuses to be what he is.”
Recommended to readers that find themselves in the quotes they highlight, romantics that don’t like reading romance novels, and to those that enjoy the challenge of cracking open the hard exterior shell of a curmudgeon to find the soft gooey center they hide inside.

Amei esse livro, foi um dos melhores livros que li esse ano. De forma muito leve, a autora traz diversos assuntos bem interessantes para a história, como a questão da solidão das pessoas idosas, auto descobrimento e lidar com as mudanças dos filhos ao longo dos anos. E casa um desses assuntos estão pautados nas vidas de cada um dos personagens, então cada parte desse livro conta a história das pessoas que participam desse grupo de leitura e o mais interessante é que os livros que ele leem para o clube bate com que eles tão sentindo ou pelo problemas que estão passando.
Cada um dos personagens me conquistou de formas diferentes e no final do livro me senti pertencente ao clube do livro. Com isso me deu vontade de participar de um clube do livro presencial, porém, ainda não achei nenhum.
Solane, apesar de ser a personagem principal, foi a que mais me conquistou no livro, pois eu me vi nela, por ela ser bibliotecária e a questão da solidão dela, que muitas vezes eu entendia o que ela estava sentindo. E por isso durante toda a leitura não pude de deixar de torcer por ela e adoreia a forma que ela foi se desenvolvendo no livro.
Esse livro precisa de ter mais reconhecimento, pois é muito bom.
