I really like the characters and the story of this book and how the author showed that sometimes friends can be more supportive, accepting and loving than family.

This was such a feel-good read! The characters envelope you in their backgrounds and bring you such joy when you get to see them prosper. I hung onto every word up until the very end. I absolutely love this book and would love to see it adapted for TV or a movie one day.

To be perfectly honest it was sending me to sleep. I have too many unread books on my shelves to put myself in a slump.

3.5 stars - This book is like a warm blanket or a cup of tea. Nothing much happens per se, but it's a glimpse into the lives of a group of people who end up in a book club around an older man's injury. The books selected are interesting and related to what those in the group are going through.
Each member gets a section of the book to narrate, which is not usually my favorite way to read a story but the multiple voices were good for this story. Things work out not quite perfectly but as we're set up to feel they should.

Really sweet, down to the earth people getting to live life and find themselves while caring for a grumpy man, who is always trying to make things right.
A little slow, but engaging enough to make you keep going and the ending was suitable.
