Apsolutely the best book of this series, I was interested all the time in the beginning, just can say that the action was slow, but then it picked up the pace.
We get interesting characters such as Puddleglum, who is so intriguing, or Jill, who seems to have flaws.
In my opinion the world-building in this book is better, more detailed (but still in the style of C.S. Lewis) compared to the previous parts.

3.5 stars.
Second time reading this, and I must say, I like it better now. This book's plot is interesting and dark, the darkest by far of the Narnia books except for The Last Battle. It's even got humor!

I remember this book being my least favorite of the entire series as a kid. Now, I’m not so sure.
Though the beginning still feels a bit slow, the story itself keeps your attention once you get into it, and Jill, happens to be a rather strong, and realistic female character. As far as older books go, I would say that Lewis is surprisingly gifted at writing strong, realistic women. The Pevensie sisters will always be the favorites, but Jill holds her own well along side Puddleglum, an adorably Eeyore esc Marshwiggle.
If you read this one as a kid and were unsure about it, it’s worth a second go :)
