This was my favorite book for a few years as a child. I reread it to see if I thought it was still as good. It definitely was!

I read this as a kid and it stuck with me. The local library brought it in from MONTANA, so I sat down tonight and gave it a read. Surreal but personally sentimental. Not as bad as I thought.

I really enjoyed this story. For a story in the same genre, Wait Till Helen comes is better, but this one is still interesting and sufficiently spooky for juvenile fiction.

I liked the ghost/time travel aspects of this story, and the ending was pleasantly satisfying. I found the storyline with the mom less interesting and pretty underdeveloped. I also didn't particularly like the main characters; Zoe Louise came off as bossy and spoiled (which she probably was, but it made me wonder why Zoe liked hanging out with her so much), and Zoe seemed incredibly slow to catch on to obvious plot points. I don't mind people being incredulous at the thought of ghosts, but the idea that the possibility doesn't even occur to her for that long? Stretches believability a bit.

One note about the writing: it is very lovely in some places, but the author is a compulsive simile abuser. Everything is like something else, and a lot of times, those comparisons don't really make a lot of sense, especially in the narrative voice of a pre-teen girl. The words definitely felt like they were overpowering the story occasionally. Overall though, it was a decent read, if not particularly creepy.

This is a book that I remember reading in the fifth grade, well only part of it. For years what I could remember stuck in my head; a ghost named Zoe Louise, a girl in the present named Zoe and Zoe Louise dancing around naked in the snow.

A co-worker of mine helped me find the book; she posted my description to a website and came back with the title. While the book is aimed for juveniles, I still picked it up again, and read it.

Even though written for children, it was still enjoyable, a little spooky, but well thought out, an original idea. Two girls becoming ghosts in each other's lives.

I don't have much else to say except that it was an enjoyable little read, taking me back to my childhood.

This was a ghost story, yes, but even more it was a story about family. The complexities of family are never easy, as Zoe quickly learns because of her very complicated mother. When faced with an usual friend ( a ghost also named Zoe), the main character feels drawn to help solve her friend's mysterious death.

I thought the author’s words had such a velvety feel to them and it was enjoyable to read. However, the choices made by the main character didn’t coincide with her personality at times and it was frustrating. I wish she would’ve delved further into the story about Zoe Louise.
