Not for the squeamish. I liked the previous book - Girl with the Dragon Tatoo. I found this follow up equally good, great insight into why Lisbeth Salander is the way she is. Set in Sweden with unique characters and some really nasty bad guys.

I like the overall story and characters of the book. I listened to much of this book and found all the names hard to keep straight and also that there were far to many mentions of cities and neighborhoods. I think much of that has to do with it being a Swedish book. I imagine they probably refer to places like that more than we do in America. Not sure maybe that was just me.

GEEEEEZZZZ.

This book is liking riding a roller coaster that you're not sure your going to survive. It's like jumping off a cliff, without knowing whether there's an ocean below.

The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo was excellent, but the Girl Who Played With Fire is EXCEPTIONAL. Your blood will be pumping until the last words, and even then, it won't stop.

Like it's predecessor, this book IS chalk-full of R-rated, nauseating moments (especially near the end), but is rather toned down compared the Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.

Not as enthralling as the first, but still a good read.
More slow paced that The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo but still enough to keep you intrigued, this made the slow pace more infuriating.
Looking forward to the third book delving further into what has been introduced this time around.

I knew what i was getting myself into after reading the first book of the series, but i will freely admit that the second book takes all of the stepping stones from the first and vaults forward. Take away the grueling setup of book 1, add some additional action and more intrigue, and you have this one. Well written, really deep character development, and a solid (though sometimes very circumstantial) novel. Overall, its a very good read. If you have read the first book, the second is well worth your time.

Began really slowly and only got more interesting later on in the book. But definitely excited to read the last book.

I took a year off from this book and came back to it to find that I remembered all the characters and I clued in easily. This book was really good; not as good as the first one, but it was good. Recommendation? Definitely. But read the first one first...it'll help a little.
