This was boring, and I"m not sure why it was written. I assume it was to capitalize on the success of the Call Me By Your Name film? I didn't care about the storylines, didn't care about the characters. And the entire time I just kept asking myself, why? WHYYYYYY

This book filled my heart to the brim. Rarely do I like a sequel, this one was special.

It is still well-written, I knew very much André. But, it wasn't impressed me I'm so disappointed. It's not about Oliver and Elio find each other.

I borderline hated Sami’s section. I feel that everything I loved about him in CMBYN was diminished to such a disappointing level. I don’t like novels where a free-spirited person cheats on a nice person because they’re just too independent and intelligent to be held down (Miranda’s boyfriend?). It was just. Overbearing and elitist in a way I didn’t connect with. Aside from that, the extent of their story didn’t carry much weight in Oliver and Elio’s lives, besides I suppose being happy for him. No thanks!
I’m not sure I understand Michel’s purpose, either! Maybe that’s on me? The last section from Elio’s perspective felt a little forced.

Although I cry easily; and always have, books don’t make me cry very much. This one? Bawled. My. Eyes. Out. If you have ever made life choices and wonder what would have happened if you chose differently - this will resonate with you.
