Originally DNF'ed @54% and gave it a 2.5 ⭐️

i really tried with this book and it was helpful at certain ends but not only was it repititive it was just something i couldn’t get over with all the different versions of the verses he was using it gave agenda pushy at some points.
I think this is mid/ okay for someone new to the faith, but I wouldn’t recommend it to others, personally.

It also just doesn’t seem that accessible to people new to Christ in its writing but that’s just how i would approach writing something like this compared to the author.

When I was reading it and introduced to it I definitely benefited from it and will take the lessons learned and the Bible to help but yeah…not for me.
I made it to day 24?? but i am DNFing.

Now: read fully and gave 4 ⭐️

It's nothing crazy new. If you read the Bible and study it, it would be a better use of your time to keep doing that. This book is better read with someone so you can discuss it. Has some good nuggets but not something great.

DID NOT FINISH: 31%

This wasn't anything new to me and I didn't find value in what I saw as a somewhat surface level analysis of our great purpose (I am a mature Christian who's attended Bible college and read the Bible through multiple times and have extensive daily conversations about my path and purpose).

It might be perfect for someone struggling but that is not currently me.

I am torn about how to review this book. I am glad I read some other reviewers' comments so I know I'm not the only one.

This book has been highly recommended to me by several people I know and trust. But... I'm not sure if I expected too much out of it or if it is just not for me, or what.

I feel like what is presented in this book is nothing necessarily ground-breaking. If I could sum up this whole book in one sentence, I would say the lesson is, "Serve God by serving people." And I agree with that 100%, but... I guess I was hoping for something to more refine my faith.

I do think this book would be helpful for someone that is new to the faith and wants to know where to start. The chapters are short and the language is accessible, so pretty much anyone can read and understand it. The author also gives suggestions about how to apply what you are learning to your life, which I think is a good idea for people who are making the transition from self-centered thinking to God-centered thinking.

I don't think I will be reading this book again, but I might recommend it to people who are new to the faith.
