It was interesting to get a bit more back story for the Browns and get a more in depth look at how their dynamic works but the book was poorly written. You can tell that whoever proof read did a bang up job. The show is much more interesting. Could have enjoyed their story without reading the book.

Interesting read, but despite their claims, I don't think they are the poster children for polygamy. The third wife, Christine said, 'of all the examples of plural families I've seen, ours is truly the best'. Whilst there appears to be no abuse and all the adults are consenting, I sure wouldn't want to spent eternity with them. One wife in particular obviously has a very dominant and overbearing personality and has caused deep emotional pain to each of her sister wives. The worst of it is that she is a social worker, pretty scary and disturbing! From the way the other wives express themselves they actually seem to be scared of her.

I really enjoy watching the show but this book gave me an unexpected insight into the family and the way it functions. On the show, the dominating wife frequently cries as though she is somehow the victim but the book shows a very different picture. Good read if you like the show 'Sister Wives'. I must also state that I believe they should be free to live the lifestyle without fear of persecution.

I think the book gives an accurate and descriptive look into their lives. I appreciate that the separate themselves from both mainstream Mormons and the FLDS we see in the news. The book mentions more detail about how they met and early years of their marriages than they ever discuss on the show. I wish the Brown Family all the best and hope the show and book both help them love their lives without persecution.

I strongly believe that if we want the freedoms to be whatever religion we want and have true freedoms that this country allows us, we need to open that to open to everyone.

I love the idea of having a large family. Thankfully I had that with my siblings and cousins. No sister wives needed!

The Brown family tries to come off as one big happy family...but after reading this book you discover that the wives don't really get along that well or even like each other all that much. Which, yeah, isn't all that shocking because being in the sister wives situation cannot be easy, but come on, on the television show they act like they're so close and it's just not true. It's worth a read only because their situation is so unique and different from the usual American family experience.

Dear GR Friends,
I am not a polygamist, nor do I wish to be one, but I really wish I could be Janelle's friend!!!!!!!!
This book is a compilation of Kody Brown's 4 wives individually sharing intimate details that range from courting to openly practicing polygamy. If you're a fan or the show, you'll enjoy this book as it goes into details that have not been aired on Sister Wives.

I give this book a high score because I enjoy the tv series and wanted to learn more about them. The book gave lots of info and I enjoyed all of their own takes on their lives. I find different cultures and beliefs interesting and this one is no different.
