Ugh Starlet and Romeo!!! Scarlett has been in love with her sisters ex boyfriend since he accidentally climbed through the wrong window at 11 years old! Dylan has always noticed Scarlett but she was off limits by her age and dated her sister.
We all have that "first love" but this book showed me that what matters more is the "first true love."
I'm so happy for Dylan my heart hurts. He deserves that. He only knew toxic love because that's what he'd gotten from his mom, which what kept going for him with Sienna. Then came Scarlett and finally understood what unconditional love means.
I love how Scarlett wasn't a doormat, just a girl who's been in love with a guy for so long but still knows her worth. There were times I feel annoyed and mad at her for being so putty in Dylan's hands but her personality was so strong and brave that even though she knows how weak she is for Dylan, she still puts him in his place by being honest.
There were some parts of the book that made me second-guessed Dylan's intentions for Scarlett. Like I thought maybe it's just lust because holy hell, the author did really good with Dylan's sexual appetite. Then I saw his character development because of Scarlett's love and goodness for him.
Can't really help but wonder if Scarlett deserves Dylan or Dylan deserves her but when you combine both of them, they're just the perfect balance.

I have so much love for this book. There is so much heartache but it is so beautiful and sweet at the same time. I love Dylan’s protective nature, with his twin sister + Scarlet his love. Scarlett is Dylan’s “forbidden love” but they find out they are perfect for eachother. Chaos and all.
❝Love was only for the brave. It made you
more vulnerable than anything ever could.
When you gave someone your heart, you
also gave them the power to destroy you.❞

❥
—» Plot:
The story begins when Dylan—our 17-year-old hero—accidently climbs through the wrong window. Instead of landing in his girlfriend Sienna's room, Dylan is met with Sienna’s 11-year-old sister, Scarlett.
I have to say that I enjoyed this little meet cute between the hero and heroine. At this point of time, the heroine is too young for there to be a romantic relationship with the hero, allowing their story to be built on friendship instead of lust.
Flash forward ten years to the present day, where Dylan and Scarlett re-enter each other’s lives. And what do you know? Sparks fly. The rest of this story is the two of them falling in love while their pasts and insecurities threaten to break them apart.
Overall, I loved the plot. However, I do wish that Rose had included scenes from the ten years between Dylan and Scar’s meet cute and their run in. It was subtly mentioned a few times that they were friends and kept in contact during this time, but we don’t get to learn the roles they played in each other’s life. It feels like an important part of their story is missing.

—» Characters:
Scarlett, is a compassionate woman, known to wear her heart on her sleeve. Oftentimes, these specific traits are applied to characters who are synonymous with doormats. In this case, they happen to make the heroine a stronger person. She knows what’s important in life, and her desire to do good allows her to forge her own path.
Our hero Dylan is an adorable
Our secondary characters were well written, but they weren’t prevalent throughout the book.
❥
—» Writing:
The writing was good, with minimal spelling or grammar errors.
❥
—» Tropes:
•Childhood Crush—heroine liked the hero as a kid/teen
•Age Gap—6 years
•Sisters Ex—Hero used to date heroine’s sister
•Poor-to-Rich Hero

We re-meet Dylan St. Clair from Wilder Love where his sister Remy got her happily ever after. Now is Dylan's chance. Dylan has always seen the world as against him, and he has had to do everything within in his power to prove himself. He was in an on and off relationship with the princess of Del Sole Sienna. He was never good enough for her to fully give herself no matter how much money he made, or how well he did.
In comes Scarlett, Sienna's sister, who is the black sheep of her own family. She has never been good enough due to never falling in line. Scarlett just wants to be happy, and has always had a crush on Dylan ever since he accidentally came into her room one night when she was 11.
Scarlett sees Dylan for the man he has become, and the man he has always been. She has found comfort in working for Remy and her husband. She enjoys being artistic, and eventually wants to have her own clothing line. She doesn't care about money, and the chains that come with it.
Dylan struggles with the attraction her feels for the younger woman as well as the fact that he was with her sister off and on for so long. Most of the book is spent with them building a friendship, and trying to ignore the instense pull between the two of them.
I am happy to see that Dylan was able to get his happily ever after with a woman who is truly worthy of him. :)
This was my first series by Emery Rose, and I look forward to reading more.

Whew. Is it hot in here?
Welcome back to Costa del Rey, and it’s tight knit surf community.
Dylan is the brother of Remy, and he intrigued me from the minute we met him in Wilder Love. Watching him do his best and power through his struggles to take care of himself and Remy endeared him to me.
In Sweet Chaos, we’ve got all grown up Dylan, and man did he grow up into something fierce. His walls are up, his guard is set and no one is getting in......
until Scarlett.
The dynamic between Scarlett & Dylan was almost instant, although it’s something that was already building many years ago. I loved them together, when they managed to get it together. There was so much history for them to muddle through, but when they finally got it, I was so content.
Things I didn’t like: Sienna, Ollie, & Simon. That’s it.
This series was something I don’t usually read, but I’m glad I took the chance.
