now how am i supposed to wait 4 more months for the sequel? is it pre-ordered? yes. can i speed up time? no.

this book has my heart. genuinely, there is nothing i love more than complex morally grey characters WITH DEPTH being tragic lovers. such an amazing take on vampires, the world building is phenomenal. this is for sure one of my top reads of the year. 100% recommend!

Okay where to begin.. this book had me confused for the first half, and still a bit confused for the second half, but thoroughly hooked anyway.

The story is complex, the magic system a bit vague (I felt it could have been explained better), and I had whiplash from the to and fro'ing between the FMC and MMC. Despite that, I still couldn't put it down as I HAD TO KNOW! I wanted redemption for the characters, I wanted the love story I knew was there, and I continued on in search of it.

The MMC could be delicious, except we spend too much time being unsure if he's the bad guy or the good guy, he walks that line like a tightrope. If you enjoy the enemies to lovers trope, this definitely falls into that category.

The suspense and mystery of the plot is the most intriguing part of this book, playing detective and trying to piece together the clues, aswell as trying to separate the FMCs own demons from those of the people around her.

I read this not realizing there is another book coming, so the ending caught me out (I should research better before starting a book). I will definitely be reading the second book, cause I still need to know what happens, and it all feels too unresolved currently to let this lie.

This book read like self-pub. I struggled through it, bored out of my mind the entire time because I just couldn’t bring myself to care about the muddled plot, poor world-building and cardboard characters.

This book reminded me of Atlas Six in that it thinks highly of itself but it is boring

I loved the diversity of this book and the cultural representation. Not a favorite read of mine, but it held my interest. It's nice to see a mythical world introducing more minority characters.

I really liked immortal dark but I have a few things to say about it. My ratings usually go based off vibe and overall enjoyment and because of that, I’ve rated it 3 stars.
Unlike most people, I had no problem with the FMC, was she crazy? Yes. Was it warranted? Absolutely. As a parent (albeit the story has her focus on a different familial relationship) I would go absolutely insane if it were my daughter that went missing. All that to say I agree with her.
Second, I didn’t care for the relationship dynamic. It just seemed so forced and all of a sudden. They went from literally trying to kill each other then they were fine. I feel the the actions towards each other didn’t match the consequences.
The world building on the other hand… wow. I LOVED it. Vampires and humans living together “seamlessly” just tickles me. Plus I love the way it was worked into school which was lore-heaven.
Can’t wait for book 2!
