Absolutely should not be YA.
Combining violence and romance (in the same scene no less) is something only an adult with fully formed prefrontal cortex should be presented with.

DNFd at 264. I wanted to like this so bad. The aesthetic and idea is so interesting but it just felt so so flat. The world building was so minimal it kind of confusing. The characters just seem so base line. But at least the book was pretty

I love vampire stories, and this one was quite promising, but so hard to get into. It was a weird mix of modern day/real world and fantasy world building that had me feeling very unclear on what the “rules” of the world were. Even though we end up finding out what happened to anime in the last couple of chapters, it felt very unresolved, even for part of a series.
