I loved this book! Being inside Kai's head was very interesting but very cool, i understood more his actions and decisions.
The only reason i didnt gave this 5 stars is the epilogue, i just wanted, needed something different.

3.5 Stars

fine, okay, I did find this book online and skim read it last night.
1) WAY more explicit sex scenes, if you're into that... without really directly mentioning certain things.
2) WAY more background details on the sex crime ring that just makes Kaiden look worse
3) WAY disturbing scenes such as '11 year old kaiden is raped by several women on command of his dad because it's time for him to start ''working''', 'kaiden refuses to have sex with a 12 year old like mentioned in book one (but now we know his dad just did it instead)', and 'kaiden talks to a girl who thinks she's here to get married and lets her know she's here for sex slavery but can't do anything about it and then leaves her to her fate'.

Ultimately there's not a lot of extra scenes in this book. We get to see Kaiden have sex at times where it was implied he was off having sex, and hear his side of being madly in love with Anna (it's not that different from reading it from her point of view, though more horny). The extra scenes are mostly personal background ones, which are mostly him dealing with the sex ring or being told by his dad to have more sex.

Some aspects felt like adjusted re-edits from the original series, like someone pointed out the issues. The epilogue, for example, talks more about how Kaiden/Anna actually are living and confirms what they are DOING now besides just being a scene where they adopt a kid. Anna actually has a job as a care worker, and Kaiden's bandmate OD'd on drugs and died (!?) so the band has broken up. There's more than just a line of 'I'll break up the sex ring', and some weak justification on why he didn't earlier.

This again feels like the weakest thing. Kaiden doesn't have a good excuse on why he holds on until after his dad is stuck in Hell to call the police on Madamn Marissa. He says 'they have connections to dirty cops!', but she's literally internationally sex trafficking- and she doesn't run the whole of the FBI. She's also a HUMAN. She knows about demons, but she's a human woman who doesn't have some special way of telling which cog in her very big illegal crime ring might have anonymously tipped off the government. There's so much room for error that her being called in while Kaiden/his dad are around doesn't matter. If anything, she/his dad would NEVER suspect Kaiden because he's such a 'good worker'!

So Kaiden makes excuses, but they're weak, and thanks to extra details/scenes, we know he's hurt HUNDREDS of girls due to this trade. Is Kaiden also abused? YEAH! He's in a very abusive situation and you know, raised/raped to be hypersexual and indoctrinated by a horrible dad in all this. Him meeting Anna is how he changes to be more caring/redeemed. Fine. He still doesn't do anything to atone for his past things. You know, to help?

What ever happened to the 12 year old child bribe he didn't help? Who knows! She didn't speak English and that was three years ago- I AM SURE SHE'S FINE....... I was expecting as part of the epilogue honestly more of a walk back, where Kaiden explains 'oh yeah we tracked down and saved Iva and that little girl and they're fine now', but they're just never mentioned again. Kaiden calls himself a coward at one point for not being willing to risk his life to report sex trafficking, but really, he is one. And it's bad.

And why is it in this book so much.

Uh, it's also of course very at contrast with the rest of the book, which is mostly Kaiden struggling to keep his dick in his pants around Anna and being horny, and then having a ton of sex, and thinking about sex. Uncomfortable contrast from 'hey 15 year old girl you're not here to be married you're a sex slave SEE YA'.

So it's bad. Oh, and also the writing of him being horny is hilariously bad at times, with many Shite! and Blimey! and overuse of the word arse.

I literally just finished this book. I must take a moment....

This book is everything you would expect from companion of The Sweet Trilogy and more. I love the fact that this book is more mature that the previous installments of the series. It was refreshing to see the dark side of this world. Before we got to see this version of reality with a veil of innocence and cluelessness. Now, through Kaidan's eyes, we can see how this things Nephilims were obligated to do affected who they were.

Kaidan was such a complex character before but now I feel like I understand his reasons behind some reactions that before left me baffled. I like how he goes from doubt, intrigue, and self-loathing to love and understanding. I love how even as he turned into a better version of himself, he did not lose his essence. Also, I loved how we can get to see him falling in love with Anna (who did not have much participation physically, but was always there through Kaidan's thoughts. Actually, none of the other characters had much participation, but since this is focused on Kaidan's perspective of a story we already know, I do not see this as a mayor flaw).

We get a lot more insight in how the sins work and how they affect the crew, and we even get to know more about Lascivious, Kaidan's band.

Overall, it was a really good book and I think a must-read for every fan of the original trilogy. Great job, Ms. Higgins.

after reading
i admit this book has it flaws but i will also admit that it's not the easiest task to pack 3 books into one + extra scenes. but i also just simply do not care. this was everything i hoped it would be. i was very much in love with kaidan before this and once i got this in my hands i got completely addicted to the story and to him and anna. again.
i had so much fun reading this and basically every scene i ever wanted to have in his pov i now have (almost. not quiet. but im satisfied). so while this may not be the best literatur masterpiece ever written and while i would say this is not required to read for people who don't particulary love kaidan, i will still give it 5 stars. because i do love kaidan. and this book.

DO YOU HEAR ME SCREAMING

This was the cherry on top of an already amazing trilogy!

The book to me seemed very repetitive as it should be because it from Kaidan's point of view of the whole series. Overall, I really enjoyed it and it gave an interesting perspective of the issues going on.

En general no es una mala saga, pero tampoco diría que es buena.
Entretiene a pesar del poco desarrollo de la trama o los personajes, pero nada más.

4.5
I loved this trilogy and getting this POV for it, but i guess a story lacks the same punch when you already know every event that happens. Oh well. Still loved it.

Kaidan is such a interested character.
