At 80% done, I’m going to call it. I don’t need to trudge through this guy’s self righteous drugalogue. It reads like hunter thompson, only … not. I respect what bourdain does as a chef but can’t get past it just not being a good book. It’s just not a good book.

I would have rated this higher if not for the audio quality. There are several places where it stops abruptly and changes the chapter. Feels like a piece is missing. Lots of it seemed like he was reading a list. All in all, ok. The tv shows are better.

I love Bourdain's show. This is actually my second attempt to read this book. First time was when I was in Beijing's the Bookworm. I love the tone and the how easy things are. No, I'm not saying life is easy, but more like, it flows like how it should be. Shall I call this a page turner? Not exactly, but sure there are some interesting bits and pieces that punched my gut with a full force heavy glove.
It is indeed a fun read. Don't mind the language, really. It is what it is.
