DID NOT FINISH: 24%

I really love Bourdain’s writing style, voice, and insight. His travel philosophy is inspiring to me and I really love what he has to say in this book.

Unfortunately, I just wasn’t coming back to listen as often as I needed to finish, even after renewing my library loan. I think this book may be better for me to consume as essays than in one go. Definitely more of a “not right now” instead of a “never again.”

“Do we really want to travel in hermetically sealed popemobiles through the rural provinces of France, Mexico and the Far East, eating only in Hard Rock Cafes and McDonalds? Or do we want to eat without fear, tearing into the local stew, the humble taqueria's mystery meat, the sincerely offered gift of a lightly grilled fish head? I know what I want. I want it all. I want to try everything once.”

Lo avrei amato di più se conoscessi anche solo qualcosa in più di cucina, ma leggere Anthony Bourdain è un’incredibile fonte di ispirazione per essere un po’ migliori e un po’ più umani.
