Worth reading for Hughes introduction, which sets the scene for this revised edition as a way of Hughes reclaiming and reconnecting with her mother.

I love this restored edition of Ariel SO much! I love the included manuscript facsimile, the additional content that includes an interview with Frieda Hughes, her speech for this book's release, and her poem about her feelings on the BBC movie, which is one of my favorite poems. Truly a beautiful book all around, and I'm happy to have it and have read it.

I started reading this collection last fall, but lost interest because it was very difficult to follow. Since there was only a fourth left to read, I decided to finish it. I personally enjoyed reading Crossing the Water more, as it was easier to interpret. This collection is not very accessible, it takes a lot to understand the writing without researching the poems. Still, there is obviously great writing in here. Plath wrote with a fiery pen.

I had to re-read Lady Lazarus about 10 times because I couldn’t do it in one go without crying. It moved me like no poem has ever moved me before.
Minor: Suicidal thoughts, Suicide attempt, and Suicide

Muchas personas me han venido recomendando a Sylvia Plath durante varios años por su contribución a la literatura feminista, lamentablemente no he podido terminar el libro por lo incómoda que me pone el racismo subyacente en estos poemas. paso
