Apesar da escrita sempre bela de Clarice, esse foi um livro que não me prendeu nem um pouco. Uma narrativa em círculos sobre Lóri descobrindo o mundo, a paixão e a si mesma. Me identifiquei com a narradora algumas vezes, mas a apatia por ela perdurou até o final.

her writing here is beyond excellent, it’s DIVINE✨ reading this felt like submitting yourself to a universe of deep, meaningful prose and you would love to just float there for ever and ever…
the author takes you into the life and thoughts of Lori, as if you are experiencing that yourself, her solitude, sadness, love, spirituality- or the lack there of. It’s sad but profound, it’s a heart breaking love story and a thought provoking life story.
despite it being only 140 pages, i would still love to have a physical copy of this and read it again someday. If i were to post a quote from a book, i’d easily open this and find enough I could probably use for a year, even the chapter ending s are beautiful.

It was a complicated read for me — the narrator drove me nuts!
Yet I can’t deny how strongly I relate to her! This was my first Lispector, and I was deeply pulled in by the quality of her prose. Like being inside a thought. It was a journey and I think I’ll need to read it again later.
Oh, and I loved Sheila Heti’s closing essay in the version I read. It rounded the whole thing out nicely.
