Book & Audiobook Review
Narrated by: Grayson Owens & Leila Allarie
Let me be honest…I did not expect to love this book as much as I did. I thought this was going to be another “Ravenhood retelling” from a different POV, but Severed Heart is so much more than that. It’s Tyler and Delphine’s story, and it stands firmly on its own.
While there are moments that overlap with the Ravenhood trilogy, the heart of this book is in how it begins…from their childhoods. Seeing what shaped Tyler and Delphine, how they experienced life, loss, and love before their worlds collided. iIt completely captured my heart. Their connection was beautiful, raw, and at times heartbreaking.
So why not a full five stars? For me, Delphine’s repeated pushback against Tyler started to feel a bit overdone. It made sense for her character, and it didn’t pull me out of the story…but emotionally, it hit a point where I just wanted relief. I wanted Tyler to be happy. And right now, he’s not. He’s sad and broken and I felt every bit of that.
And the audiobook? Phenomenal. Grayson Owens (as Tyler) was a revelation. His performance was so powerful I immediately started searching for more of his audiobooks. And the Leila Allarie (as Delphine) Absolutely nailed the accent, tone, and emotion. It was so believable, especially her struggle with language. Their chemistry in narration matched the depth of the story perfectly.
This book made me ache in the best way. I’m now anxiously waiting for Birds of a Feather because I need to see if Tyler gets the happy ending he deserves.

Infinite stars.
The most emotional, heart-rending book ive read this year.
Though I dont know why I am surprise. Kate Stewart wrecks me each time she writes a book
Delphine was magnificent and I am mourning her loss.
Tyler is an amazing character. His next boom will be 💥 🔥

The story's beauty lies in the dread that thrums alive on every page like a heart on its last precious breaths. We know it's coming, yet we still get pulled towards the white light. A kind of addictive misery that we Ravens will NEVER get over in our lifetime!!. As much as every Raven girl cries when it rains, we shall weep at the sight of wildflowers and snow from now on. Hope our collective cries Pierce the sky above and rain some relief for our #TyDelph
There's books that are ugly cry
There's books that crush your heart
And the legendary status is awarded to the The Ravenhood Series, that tell you upfront that you might not make it out with your soul alive, yet we readers enter the burning gates, following these ultimate alphas to fall in love with them and never recover.
As much as I was “OBSESSED” over Dom, Sean & Tobias....Tyler Carter Jennings has them beat by yards and meters and miles. His young nubile heart falls once for the brash Delphine and never does his eyes or heart stray from her... “FOREVER”
Tell me there's another hero like him...I'll wait!
She's trouble with a capital T. Her own debt Riddled father on the verge of selling her, she runs away from beloved France to arrive with Alain to the shores of American dream. Only to discover she's exchanged one nightmare for the other. Tragedy strikes her often and hard, almost unaliving her multiple times. Her brain is now in a perpetual fog, and she struggles to find answers at the bottom of her bottle or smoke & ash.
Obviously her charges, her nephews despise her, but not more than she despises herself
And how and why does Tyler see through all the layers of bullshit and see “General Half Pint” in her, goes to show that love does indeed find a way. She saves him as much he saves her.
“Aaaaand I'm BAWLING again”
Until Kate Stewart steps in the path and rips all our collective hearts sans mercy
To say that I'm drained from all the “CRYING, SCREAMING, THROWING UP” is understatement of the year.
As much as the men are delicious, this book belongs to Warrior Delphine. In her short life she's lived multiple lives, survived them all, except for love. I've rarely read a stronger, more determined and more enigmatic heroine. She's an inspiration and a hallucination.
I'm “DISSOLVED ” , reduced to “NOTHINGNESS” , our tears have filled the oceans of Torment, we need our own island where we can be left alone to mourn.
Praying for it in the next book
“All the Galaxies Of Stars that Delphine showed her Soldier Boy”

While this book was long, I did cry. I appreciated the character development with Delphine and Tyler. Definitely related to the characters as well. Solid series.
