This was a good audiobook, I enjoyed Rebel in the Pitch Perfect Movies and was curious about her memoir. The book was okay, it’s always interesting learning about people, but it wasn’t the best memoir I’ve read.

Fun listen on audio. As with so many celeb memoirs, the first part is way more interesting that the got rich and famous part.

Fell in love with Rebel all over again! It was nice to learn some of the amazing things she's accomplished in her life and it was inspiring to hear her story. I love that she narrated the audiobook herself and it felt like a conversation with an old friend. Highly recommend!

I love reading celebrity memoirs because they humanize the rich and famous people who write them. That’s not quite the case with Rebel’s memoir.

I appreciated learning about her upbringing, especially her perseverance to do well in school to have a good, stable career.

However, the book seemed to drag on and became a chore to read. It seemed like there was an unnecessary focus on including non-essential details, including incessant name-dropping, the inclusion of statistics (Rebel is very aware of her projects’ box office performance, as well as IG likes and impressions lol)

Rebel (and let’s be real, her ghost writer) made some interesting choices when writing this book. The way she chose to describe certain mundane things really said a lot. For example,
Why mention her g wagon and not just car, “office house”and not just house, VIP parking lot instead of parking lot, I could go on and on and on.

Overall I learned that Rebel is very intelligent and had to work hard (like we all do) to get to where she is today. However I also learned that she is quite materialistic and loves to brag.

Now, I do think I would be saying the same thing if this was written by a man, just FYI!!

What an interesting person! I enjoyed learning about Rebel’s history. She’s smart, funny, a strong woman, adventurous, giving, and so much more. It was cool learning about her family, her schooling, her early career, and her relationships. If you’ve seen Pitch Perfect or any of her other movies, I think you’d enjoy reading this book.

She has an interesting life and is clearly passionate about sharing her story but how rich is this woman from pitch perfect
