Call me naive but right about now I love the idea of superpowered immortals roaming the streets of Paris, protecting the innocent from those who would mean them harm.

This was a tidy conclusion to an oddly endearing trilogy. If at times a little too tidy - some of the key events leading up to the finale were ripe for conflict, but Kate and Vincent also have the superpower of avoiding conflict and not having much depth, so nothing to see here folks.

Still, I was satisfied with this ending and I would like more books in this world, preferably with slightly more interesting characters in the lead. Nevertheless, enjoyable escapism.

So this actually ended up being my favorite book out of the three so good job Amy Plum! I was interested during the entire book and it pleased me to see Kate grow as a character. She started from weak and whiny to strong and powerful. Also I'd just like to say I CALLED IT!! I SO CALLED IT! In my review for the second book I predicted the end of this book :)

Roller coaster of emotions, but what a great ending to a great trilogy! Review to come

Kate and the Paris revenants race to get Vincent back before his spirit is destroyed forever. A dark secret about Jean-Baptiste is revealed. War looms as Numa flock to Paris.

Oh Jules, wonderful, sweet Jules. Why, oh why, didn't Amy Plum make more of your heartbreaking love triangle?

In fact, there were many things I wish the author had made more of. I mean, kudos to her for focusing on the action and the actual story but damn I love a good romantic subplot. This one had the potential to be amazing but it was left slightly underdeveloped.

There aren't many other things I can say without spoiling parts of the end of this series, so I'll summarize: main story good, romantic subplot letdown. 3 stars.

Perfect ending for a well developed series.

Let's summarise this book with a few words:

Kate, I-
Vincent, you-
Kate, no-
Vincent, we-
Kate-
Vincent-
KATE-
VINCENT I'M THE CHAMPION SO JUST TRUST ME OKAY?!
...

So yes, this book wasn't exactly surprising. I kinda knew what would come when Bran started to act super weird concerning Kate. And as I pointed out above: all this "Kate, you- but no, Vincent. But KATE" was rather annoying. It always felt like they would start to preach how much they did not want to lose/leave/miss/fear for the other one. (They almost always did, so... I guess it's kinda justified)
Nevertheless, it is the end of a trilogy I really learned to like. I remember reading Die For Me right after I graduated last year and whenever I return to thinking about those days, I can easily remember how much that book surprised me in a good way and how immediately I feel in love with Vincent, Gaspard and Jules.
(Btw, Gaspard... I feel you. You didn't deserve to lose JB, after all the things he did. I wish they could get him a body, like they gave Vincent a new one...)

So, thank you for a nice summer-book trilogy, Amy Plum. I'll keep Vincent and Kate in my mind, Jules and Gaspard in my heart.
May Kate walk with the revenants in peace and love.

All I'm going to say is that I was right, and I freaking love this series. Characters shall be missed
