When I tell you I cried my eyes out in the last chapters of this book… Lanston is such an angel and the epilogue of seeing Wynn and Liam. Moronova is a master of her craft and I’m so happy for this phantom’s happily ever after.
whew. This was an emotional one. tears were most certainly shed.
it was haunting. I think that’s the best way to describe this book. as someone who struggles with mental illness, i felt seen. k.m. moronova put so many thoughts and feelings that i’ve had into tangible words. i hated seeing lanston continue to hurt so much, but i am so happy that he found happiness. ophelia’s story was tender and real and devastating.
if you are looking for a read that will make you feel, like really feel, read ‘fabric of our souls’ and then this one.
also, shout out to the short chapters!

Lanston had my whole heart through The Fabric of Our Souls, and he continued to in this one. An exploration of grief, moving forward, and letting go but from the other side of the grave. Well written, beautiful prose, and I'm really glad things didn't turn out to be some outside, pressing, spooky force.
A Ballad of Phantoms and Hope has its readers take a look inside themselves and asks "Will you face your own Darkness, or will you let it bury you in shadow?"

The way this book is so beautifully devastatingly written in itself is something not of this world. Lanston is something soooo beautifully broken but yet darkly devastating…. K.M. Moronova is a BEAUTIFUL WRITER. I JUST CANT! THIS BOOK MAY JUST END ME…I can’t explain whoever reads this, needs this series dark or not romance or not it’s soooo damn beautiful.

I cried multiple times while reading this book... and I'm not talking about soft single tears, I'm talking about ugly tears, sobbing at this beautifully tragic piece of art.
Ophelia and Lanston are two shattered souls stuck in purgatory, unable to find their light even after they've died such tragic deaths. Unable to find their place in death as they were unable to find their place in life. Their stories are devastating and will have you unable to put this book down (seriously, I binge-read this book).
I also will always have a soft spot for quote worthy books, and this is definitely that. Wow.
Ugh, I just want to hold all these characters and never let them go. I was so sad (and shocked) to see Lanston die in the first book, but I guess I forgive K.M. Moronova simply because this book is so amazing, and she finally gave Lanston the ending hes so desperately deserved.
These books are beautiful, and I am 100% sure they will hold a special place in my heart forever . ❤️
