This was fun. Not the best or the worst in the Stephanie Plum series, I think she has proven herself as a bounty hunter and am tired of her doubt about it. She needs to own it. If her men loved her, they would love her for who she is and not change her. I think her and Morelli's relationship is tired and comfortable. I think Ranger offers her more for what she needs and who she is.
Same formulaic story. Still fun characters. Not enough interplay with the love triangle. Disappointing ending. Expect a lot more, used to love this series now it's been boring for the last several books

Giraffe? In New Jersey? Running free? This seems that it would grab someone's attention, but it doesn't. No one seems to know anything about it, which has Stephanie and Lulu starting to doubt their sanity. I know this doesn't seem like the usual lead in to a review about a Stephanie Plum book, but when you read the book, you'll understand. Stephanie still isn't getting much better at her job, but this time she has a really good excuse: someone is trying to stop her from being able to do her job and from living, in general. This time it gets a little extreme - like getting thrown off a bridge. Thank goodness that between Ranger and Morelli, they are able to keep Stephanie alive. However, Grandma Bella is doing her part again to make sure that Stephanie can't relax and starts to get a little paranoid. Here's a little interesting tidbit - Stephanie decides that maybe she isn't cut out to be a bounty hunter and decides to try her hand at working for a butcher. Yeah, you can guess how that goes...or maybe you can't, because I didn't see that part coming. Some good surprises in this one.
A little hard to rate over 3 on something that is so formulaic, but don't think for a minute that I didn't enjoy it. Staying motivated to keep running is not very easy for me, music doesn't do it. Stephanie Plum helps me finish.
By now, you know the formula for this easy reading, light hearted book series. Sit back, giggle, and enjoy. If you're looking for a deep, thought provoking book, you obviously aren't familiar with this series. Get over it people.
More like 2.5, if only for the one-liners delivered by Lula and Grandma. I borrowed this book from my mom; it's one of those books I read because I don't have anything to read. It's a light, easy read with a couple of laugh out loud moments. Nothing spectacular, but for it's purpose, it serves.
Twenty is plenty? Oh well, another won't hurt. The usual style, the usual suspects. But with a giraffe this time...
This book included a giraffe sighting, a murder mystery, a cement accident and so much more. It had the usual humor with Stephanie Plum adventures. I love this series and it is a light - hearted read.
