Cora Carmack

WHAT? THAT'S IT? I thought that this would be more than 70-ish pages.

It was cute but I was kind of disappointed with the ending. However, I thought this book had several lovely quotes and had a good message about how to deal with the next steps in a relationship.

I just wanted more from the last page. I was expecting Bliss to be pregnant. But now I'm glad she isn't because I'm hoping that we will get another story about Garrick and Bliss's relationship. I'm not sure what I was expecting from the ending. Maybe I'm just disappointed that it's over lol!

I love these two, seriously. The book was super cute and funny, it had me laughing out loud. My only complaint is that it was too short, and that it seemed to end abruptly. I would have liked to see them back in Philly or something. Or I don't know, the ending should have been more meaningful , especially if it's the last we'll hear from these two, at least when it comes to their own story. Cora should write more about Bliss and Garrick, I love their story a thousand times more than Cade's. Seriously, couldn't she release a novella like this every month? Pretty please?
Anyway, great story!

Oh and I really liked Garrick's friends, Rowland and Graham. They're really funny and I wouldn't mind reading their story ;)

I've only read one book by Cora Carmack which is Losing It and I would say that I admire her writing so much that I'll have to read all Cora Carmack's books.

Since I loved “Losing It”, I felt that I need more of Garrick and Bliss. So after I finished the book I immediately acquire a copy of this novella. Keeping Her was a quick and fun read.  It's very nice to see what happened to them after their Student-Teacher romance and of course, get a glimpse of Garrick's family and friends in London. Bliss is so adorable and endearing, and Garrick basically, you do not need me to tell you this - is still hot and delicious (lol, lack of a better term sorry).

"This was a man that would hold my bag of tampons without any complaint, a man that didn't get angry when I stopped him right before sex, and a man that loved me and cherished me despite all my oddities and issues."

I loved the fact that I was reading Garrick's POV. He a guy who is worth keeping, if only he's not fictional. Ohhh. I liked the way they care about each other, makes me realize that love must be unselfish. And anyway, the book made me laugh more than I expected. Cora is absolutely amazing. She creates these characters that you want to meet in real life and be friends with (or make out with lol).

If you’re a fan of the series, check this one. Check out what mess Garrick and Bliss have found themselves in. And if you haven’t read the series yet, GO AND BUY A COPY NOW!!!!

Rating: 4.5 stars

I am so in love with this series so when I finished Faking It and found out there would be a novella as well I was overjoyed, even more so when I received it on Edelweiss!

Keeping Her is about Garrick and Bliss which I was really excited about. I felt there was so much more to their story and I couldn’t wait to get a glimpse of that. The couple travels to London to see Garrick’s family, this is also the first time that Bliss is meeting them and true to Garrick/Bliss form there are a few hiccups along the way.

I need to start off by saying that I’m a little bit over Bliss. I really liked her in Losing It but now that they have been together for quite some time, live together and are actually engaged the freaking out, embarrassed act that she has sometimes drives me nuts. I understand it’s nerve-wracking to meet your fiancé’s parents for the first time but she was being a bit irrational. I don’t know, maybe I looked too much into that.

I did enjoy the story however, it was cute and a good little addition to their story. It’s absolutely not necessary to read Keeping Her as it doesn’t have any plot developments but it’s fun to read. I liked meeting Garrick’s family, friends and seeing where he comes from but I’ve had enough of their story now and I’m ready for Finding Her!

Actual rating: 4.5*'s.

This addition was a perfect rounding off of "Losing It". After finishing Losing It, I found myself desiring to find out what happened with the characters that I had fallen in love with; and I was delighted to find out that this was a thing. I downloaded it immediately and got to reading it and I absolutely loved it.

This novel is set after Losing It. The couple are heading towards London in order to meet Garrick's family and it's fair to say that it's playing on both of their minds. Will they be able to cope with the stress and tribulations of meeting such a difficult family or will their relationship be able to withstand it? The two head to London and immediately the drama sets off. Despite how this novella is one of the shortest that I've read; it truly is short and sweet and if it were to be any longer, I'd have possibly thought it unnecessary. I love how short Cora Carmack wrote this. So much happening in such a short space of time kept me on my toes, kept me interested and kept me truly invested in the story and I didn't for one moment skim the page whilst thinking "wow, I wish something would happen" so props to you, Cora!

There were a good number of twists and turns throughout the course of this to keep me fully entertained and interested and it added more depth to the relationship - we saw them go through traumatic and worrying times whilst watching them also go through the best time of their lives and it was extremely interesting to see how they managed all of these things and to watch how their relationship grew as a result of this. I loved learning more about the characters (especially Garrick) and I loved seeing relationships between Bliss and Garrick's family develop - it made the characters more interesting, more relatable and just well rounded. It was nice to see such a large amount actually dedicated to Garrick's family - I was expecting there to be minimal content including Bliss's growing relationship with his mother, for example, but I was blown away just how much Carmack developed the relationship there as well as developing Bliss's and Garrick's. Another point to you, Cora!

I loved how it was written and I particularly favoured seeing it in Garrick's point of view - it was nice to see it from his POV and helped me to connect with his character even more and I can officially say that Garrick is on my fictional boyfriends list! Yay! Reading his thoughts gave him depth for me and it was something that Losing It was lacking; I needed to see more from Garrick's point of view and it is done in such a clever and useful way that I couldn't actually find anything to pick at.

The only complaint is that I felt it was rounded off a little too quickly; things seemed to be resolved at a snap of their fingers, but I suppose that's part of the charm - hence why this only knocked .5* off of my overall rating.

If you have read losing it, I would recommend you pick this up even if you didn't particularly like losing it. It is well worth the read and it could well sway you into "shipping" the couple harder (it did that with me, that's for sure!)As a side note: I think I'm in love with Cora Carmack's writing; she's truly fabulous.

Definitely give it a try!

This novella was pointless. I don't even think I'm going to write a full review. It was more of Bliss whining about how she's not good enough and how klutzy she is and how she doesn't deserve Garrick. Blah. The only good thing about this was it took place in London. And since only one page was devoted to all of the site seeing that they did, that couldn't even save it. Also, someone please explain to me why almost all new adult books need to have a pregnancy - either real or a scare. It's almost like authors just don't know what to do with their characters so they just add a baby. Ugh. Where is Cade's book? #TeamCade

Really loved it but wish there was more ! I know it's a novella but I just love these characters so much <3 so adorable

Nothing happened.

This novella was almost nauseatingly mushy. I mean take two creative, emotional types that find that one person that fits them and are still relatively new into their relationship. I’m talking diabetic levels of sweetness and PDA. But when things are that perfect, I’m always wondering what is coming around the corner to ruin it. Well it isn’t around the corner, but across the pond. Bliss is going to meet the future-in-laws. In-laws that are corporate uppity types. The reason that Garrick had to leave England for America to do what he loved.

Well, these two stand up to the pressure test. They remind us that it isn’t always going to be easy to live the dream and happy always beats a fat bank account.

This made me really happy. I would have appreciated just a bit more.
