Ember (Queen), Diamond, Club, Spade, Heart. Ember has always been in an outcast. When she was younger she went to the circus with her parents, there she felt like she was more welcome there than anywhere else in the world. Years later, she is married to an abusive man. He beats her and grapes her daily. One day when he locked her in the attic after taking it too far she finds an old card that she received when she went to the circus. The cards sends a call out to Diamond, Club, Spade and Heart. They come and save her and offer her the chance at revenge. Instead she chooses to go with them after they beat her husband. From there she is thrust into a beautiful and unique world of the Circus Obscurum. She slowly starts to heal both physically and mentally with the help of the guys and the people of the circus. Not all is what it seems.
This book was so good. I devoured it. KA Knight and Kendra Moreno wrote this amazing book and my god is it worth the read. It gives you the intriguing visuals of a circus in a why choose romance. This book was very dark especially the beginning with the husband. Check your triggers. The spice in this was TOP TIER! When I tell you some of the spice scenes will be living rent free in my head. I know when K.A. Knight and Kendra Moreno team up it will be a wild ride and Cirque Obscurum was just that. The Cirque Obscurum is a place to be entertained but also to give help to those who need it. Im going to start out by saying this was an amazing story but please check the trigger warning. When Roger brutally beat and tossed Ember in the attic, he thought she’d be dead by the time he returned, but she wasn’t. Unbeknownst to her by touching a card she got from Cirque Obscurum years ago, magically called help to her. And that help was 4 large masked men who offer her a choice, stay or come with them. This is a why choose romance and why choose when you can have Diamond, Spade, Heart and Club! I loved that the Cirque brought broken people together and gave them a purpose and a family. Is this dark book, yes. Is it hella spicy, damn right. Cirque Obscurum is dark, bloody, bloody but also beautiful.
What in the actual F*** did I just read??? So amazing!!!! 🖤🖤🖤
From the first page, I was hooked. Ember is so special, even at a young age, she was different and I like that about her. She is kind and caring and so beautiful. But she is kind of lost and just barely surviving. What she went through can only be described as soul destroying.
Our mmc's are Diamond, Spade, Heart and Club. I found it so interesting how they all grew up and came to be at Cirque Obscurum. Their pasts are dark but it shaped them into who they are.
When the men save Ember in their own unique way, they bring her to Cirque Obscurum where she learns that the world isn't as it seems. Ember, over time does start to accept her future and truly embraces it and she is really quite good at it, almost as if she was always meant to be doing this. She grows extremely close with the guys and starts to fall in love with them and vice versa. It was lovely to see them all get the happiness that they all deserved. The problem is, she left something behind that maybe she shouldn't have and this particular something does cause problems for her and her men....
Please check your trigger warnings as this story is quite dark ⚠️❤️⚠️
All i can say is read this! It was incredible 🖤🖤🖤
Thank you so so much to Katie, Kendra, your beautiful team and the lovely team at Wordsmith Publicity for giving me the chance to read this story. I am forever grateful 🙏 All opinions are honest and my own ❤️

TELL ME YOUR NIGHTMARES ...
I have read and loved a few books by both of these authors now and have loved everything.
When Kendra & Katie write together 🤌
That being said this has been the darkest by both authors so far. When I say CHECK TRIGGERS, do so as there is mention of spousal & child abUse (on page).
This book grabs onto you from the very first page and does not let you go until the end.
Ember visits the circus with her parents when she is a child. Just before going home she sees the fortune teller who tells her life will not be kind to you, not in the beginning.
She is given a Joker card and told when you call we will come. That they always come for those who need to be saved.
It is 15 years later when Ember needs to use the card.
I absolutely loved Ember and her men, Club, Diamond, Heart and Spade. Ember quickly became their Queen, which is what she named herself.
I normally find it hard to pick favourites in why choose romances, but Heart was easily my favourite. Who can't love a guy who will sing rhymes while hunting and ☠️ someone.

I love anything and everything these two write and for them to be writing this together is sheer perfection! However this story is DARK, so if you're not used to dark romance or you're aware of your triggers, I would recommend checking the trigger warnings before reading.
KA Knight and Kendra Moreno have written a fantastic dark romance book capturing the wonder and mystery around the circus, interweaving darker elements within the plot, to create a wonderful story full of found family, touch her and die, revenge and self-discovery (along with the usual psycho shenanigans of one of my favourite MMC's) and most importantly some great spice! 🥵
I really enjoyed reading this - from the Circus setting, to the characters, to the storyline it had me captivated throughout. I'm not going to go into too much detail, as I don't want to spoil too much but the relationship between Ember, Heart, Club, Spade and Diamond was the pinnacle of this piece of work and I also loved the tarot/card deck theme throughout and the stories this invoked.
If you like dark romance why choose with a hint of mystery and suspense this would be one I would recommend you add to your TBR list!

I absolutely loved this and was hooked from the very beginning. It starts off very quickly and darkly. I was immediately needing answers and to see what happened with Ember. I read this entire book in one sitting because it was that good.
I loved seeing how Ember was able to heal from her past and find her place among these men. They supported her but also pushed her to take back her power. They didn't coddle her or guard her but fought right next to her.
The spice was incredible as it always is in a KA Knight book, and I have a few new face spicy scenes.
My only complaint is I wished it was longer, I wished we got more of Ember and her guys being together.
KA Knight is one of my favorite authors and I think I found a new one with Kendra Moreno. I cant wait to read some of her books and some more of their cowritten books.
Thank you KA Knight and Kendra Moreno for an ARC copy of Cirque Obscurum.

“The darkness will always come when you call. Cirque Obscurum’s doors will always be open to you should you wish for it.”
“Our fates are tied to the cards. We answer to them, and now, so do I.”
“Cirque Obscurum is no ordinary circus. This is where monsters come to play. Tell me your nightmares.”
I loved this book and devoured it in one sitting.
I loved the dynamic and relationship development between the FMC, Ember, and the four MMCs: Diamond, Spade, Heart, and Club. All of them had different but difficult backgrounds and their own demons that they had to fight. I loved how the MMCs helped Ember to overcome her traumas and become more powerful and confident.
The circus itself was really interesting, and I loved the mystical, magical elements and how the cards played a big role in the story.
The plot was intense from start to finish, and there weren’t any dull moments. The pacing was quite fast but never felt rushed, and there was also time to explain and explore things.
Overall, a great read, perfect for readers who enjoy dark romance with circus vibes and heavy themes.
Please check the trigger warnings before reading; your mental health matters.
I received an ARC of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review. Receiving ARC didn’t affect my opinion of the book.
