So far this series just keeps getting better. It's an fun, action-packed urban fantasy with solid world-building and characters you care about.

In this, the third installment, Lex is trying to find the new normal after she tells her brother in law that his daughter is a "null." A null is a person who cancels out all magic around them. They are sought after for reasons both good and evil by other "old worlders" or people with magic abilities. Her brother-in-law, John, didn't react well to the knowledge of the old world or that his toddler daughter could be in danger. Lex is also navigating the growing relationship with the vampire, Quinn, and continuing to work for the head of the Colorado vampires, Maven. She's learned just about all she can about how her own magic works from her witch friends, Simon and Lily, and isn't sure where to go next for more information.

Into this mix comes someone who introduces himself as her father, causing confusion and suspicion. About the time her father shows up obviously wanting something from her, vampires start dying from belladonna poisoning and Maven is severely wounded in an attack. Lex and Quinn, along with Simon and Lily, help Maven while trying to figure out what's going on. If it becomes known Maven is out of commission, it's likely a struggle for power will ensue, which could lead to an all out war between the different old world factions--witches, vampires, and werewolves. Lex tries to figure out the puzzle of who and why, but keeps coming up a few pieces short. The author cleverly weaves the plot with more information and world-building, as well as more backstory for both Quinn and Lex. I loved the growth in Lex over this book, as she learns to accept who she, and also learns to "work smarter, not harder."

I've enjoyed Kate Rudd's narration from the beginning, and now in book three she simply is the voice for this series. In each books she has gotten stronger and her voices for all the characters are well done and easy to differentiate.

DNF @ 30%. Third book in and I don't care about the characters or the story. The MC "Lex" annoys me and all of the secondary characters still feel flat. I have zero interest in seeing how this story ends.

2 "it's not you, it's me, but it really may be you" stars.

THIS WAS THE BEST. That's a horrible review but I really did love this book. I do feel like I missed quite a lot with the between-the-books bits not making it into the audioboooks. But it just threw me off a little.

The vampires are under attack and Maven, Colorado's Cardinal Vampire calls on Lex to get to the bottom of it. What she discovers is more than just a plot, it's a vendetta and the culprits are closer to Lex than is comfortable.

Boundary Born is brilliant. It's what I would describe as a perfect book. I don't have a single complaint.

Many thanks to 47North and Netgalley for providing me with this ARC

This was a good conclusion to the series. I enjoyed the culmination of finding out about Lex's origins and appreciate that it wasn't dragged out to more than a trilogy.

For the third book in the Boundary Magic series, Lex is having some family problems but not Luther family problems. Nope, her family problems come from the appearance of the biological kind... Also, vampires are being poisoned with belladonna including, Maven, Lex's vampire boss. People are dying mysteriously and animals are losing their minds. What does it all mean? Is it connected? Can Lex trust her new family?

I really enjoyed the latest story with Lex and her friends and family. We got to learn more about her, her biological origins, and boundary magic. I found the plot interesting and like most of Olson books I found the story to be fast-paced. We also get to see a cameo of two characters from the Scarlett Bernard series. I thought that was somewhat of a pleasant surprise.

I also liked that we learned more about Quinn (I would absolutely love to have a Quinn book) and I think he was more present in the book. Though, I thought there wasn't as much bromance with Simon as in previous books (I do have a soft spot for bromances). Though, whenever Lex mentions the special connection between Simon and her, I always cross my fingers and hope that Olson isn't setting up a love triangle between Simon, Quinn, and Lex.

I really like the Lex character and would definitely read (and hope for) future books (and maybe a Quinn book?).

But is it really over? I want to know more. I want to see more. Surely I can't be done with this trilogy forever right??? This is going to leave me with a very expansive book hangover. I can feel it with every fiber of my being.

I fell in love with all the characters in this trilogy just like I did the other two trilogies based around these characters. In my opinion, it's really hard not to get attached though. They are all amazing and hilarious! I fully recommend this trilogy, the other two trilogies, and this author!

Really great ending for the original trilogy but leaves open plenty, which I guess she decided to expand on since it now goes to book 5. I will definitely read on.

I really like the characters in this book. I want the best for Simon but know that Lex made her choice a long time past. So we don't get the whishy washy, triangle, and also Lex really is not the too stupid to live character either. So the only thing I would complain about is the last minute save, figuring it out. Yes, Lex is new to Boundary Magic and that is part of her appeal. So enjoyed it greatly overall.
