Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn

So, I just finished reading Gone Girl.
It was a very slow read for me. I felt it was too elaborated. Although it was good, with precise details but I still felt it was somehow predictable in terms of Mystery Genre. The book got a little monochromatic for me to be honest.
I do feel amazed by the main character Amy. Her mind is brilliant and her patience even tops that. She's perfect when it comes to getting her way. You can not find a loophole there.
And the fact that the diary entries (if you have read the book you'll know. I won't give spoilers to others) will blow your mind away. How did she even pull off something like this on her own.
Simple answer would be she's brilliant.
But another answer would be she's a chaos and a psycho. There's no denying that. (Please don't take this as offensive. I couldn't find a better word.) . And I feel worried for her and Nick's child already. This book gives you the chills, and pretty much messes up your mind. But then maybe a lot of mysteries thrillers do.But I just couldn't connect to it very well. ☁ Also another point this book touches is how some people can not express their emotions. But that doesn't mean they do not feel things.
And I am still thinking about the fact that how relationships get messed up and how two individuals can be so toxic for each other.

In all honesty, I’m procrastinating studying for my exam tomorrow but I am quite conflicted with my review on this one. I enjoyed the writing style and Flynn’s ability to create a convincing and unique character is undeniable.  I feel that a lot of wattpad published writers think that their characters are as vivid as hers just by say «  oh so and so was extremely intelligent and dangerous » . Basically all tell no show. But Ms Gillian new how to make a character appear intimidating or funny. She also knows how to write two different point of views and making them both distinct. My biggest quack is with the vulgarity. As a well known philosopher said « no more saying cuss words guy. It is inappropriate and violent ». I am half joking when I say this; maybe I was too young to read it (16 going on 17). I mean i understand it’s about adults and marital issues and so on but i feel there was a plethora ( if you forgot the definition of plethora: a very large amount of something, especially a larger amount than you need, want, or can deal with ) of them plus sexual themes. I do realise that it’s most likely a me problem but as I said the craft of characters is twenty times better than a book made for adolescents and can’t really find the perfect balance for me.

I went in already knowing the twists from having seen the movie and yet I still just couldn’t put the book down. It’s one of those books that once you start it, you have to rearrange your whole weekend so you can just keep reading.

gaslight, gatekeep, girlboss

Amy is not a sociopath. She is unstable to the core, and immature. What happened here is how Gillian Flynn writes Amy, we simply sympathizing to her delusions.

The suspense was killing me! Once I really got Gone Girl, I couldn’t stop reading it. To use one of my favorite bookish terms, a great deal of this book was absolutely unputdownable. I had high hopes for Gone Girl—given my love of thrillers and the book’s popularity—and it did not disappoint!

Nick and Amy as narrators truly made the story. I say it all the time and I’ll say it again: I love a good complex character, and Nick and Amy are certainly that. I find it far more fascinating when

Loved this book. Loved it. Great plot, good characters - interesting twists, right up to the end.
