This was a quality book. It kept me hanging and thoroughly entertained the whole time and I loved all the unexpected turns and twists. It made the book even better because Ashley and I were driving through the exact places in Mississippi and Tennessee while listening to it.
I learned a lot about the judicial system and understand a bit better how courts work.
This is my second John Grisham book that I've loved. I may have to read more of his works. Especially because there is minimal cussing and no dirty scenes compared to many other authors/books today.

If you’re expecting a fast paced murder mystery thriller this is not the book for you. The writing is great and the story itself is is really good but it was not at all what I expected from the title, tag line or blurb. It felt more like a history of the newspaper which, while interesting and engaging, is not what i went in expecting.
I really liked this book. I liked the story line, the characters, and the way it was written. I thought the back of the book was a little misleading, i thought the story was going to be different than how it turned out. The ending of the book was very exciting and full of suprises. The ending is kindof open ended. They don't actually tell you what really happened but hint at the possibility of it.
Not met my expectations, having read other books by the author, this one reveleid a disappointment. Not that the story is not nice, but only in the last 50 pages does the book actually comes to live

Wow, talk about a twist ending. This story kept me wanting to keep reading it. I couldn't wait to the end, and then it was so unexpected. I still have a question, but it seems like it just will never be answered.
The Last Juror by John Grisham
In this book we learn about the history of the paper and how putting in controversial obits makes a difference. The new editor also posts a lot of local community news: group meetings, killings, etc.
One has been sent to prison for rape and killing a woman. He tells the jurors he will come after them if they find him guilty. They do and after his time he's released. The author really goes into learning about the people, their lifes and all about them.
I received this book from National Library Service for my BARD (Braille Audio Reading Device).

I always like to listen to John Grisham books, rather than read them. This book was fairly predictable for me, but it didn't seem like the author's main focus was to stump the reader, though I'm sure some were. It seemed more like a story about a young man fresh out of college who didn't know what real relationship was like until he somehow landed in Clanton. I appreciated the point of view of the main character. He was an outsider to the town, and so he could note the ridiculousness of the drama and gossip, and yet still maintain a fondness for people who included him in their small town life and even in their family.
I liked the pace of the plot, and the history it touched on. I also enjoyed Grishams portrayal of southern religious "folk"...he hit the nail on the head with their religious talk and customs, perhaps with tongue in cheek, but also showing an endearing side to them.
I feel like I was immersed in small town life, and I am anxious to shake it off and move on to another book.

I don't normally read this genre and never knew what I was missing! The story captured me from the first chapter with real life scenarios mixed with laugh out loud comedic bits. This story twisted and turned and when I thought I had it all figured out - he added a surprise twist! A fun read which would make a great movie. Definitely a recommended fun summer read!
