This a middle grade book that can fit well into more than one genre- mystery, supernatural and fantasy. A story with many elements woven together that kept me guessing what direction it was heading until the end. Overall, a highly enjoyable read.

I loved this book! Elizabeth lives with her aunt and uncle. They have very little to do with her. When things didn't seem to get any worse, they send her to Winterhouse for three weeks while they go an vacation. Elizabeth is a very curious girl and finds herself in many situations that she begins to question. She finds a friend and begins to enjoy the house and doesn't want to leave.
This was so well done. Perfect read for this time of year. I will be continuing with the series. 4.5 stars.

I had read this a couple years back, and I loved it. I reread it this year for nostalgia and while still interesting, it felt weak in some areas, and lacked character development. Very interesting concept, and i still enjoyed reading it, just not enough to read the next in the series.
