Love Lucy’s versatility!
I’m really enjoying Lucy’s versatility as an author! The WILDE series isn’t just basic formulas each and every time. They’re always new and interesting and fun!

This is super readable and the Wilde family is amazing. However, Seth's actions to cut Otto off for 10 years the way he did and Otto's ridiculously quick forgiveness was frustrating.
The whole first half was too schmoopy and entirely too long. The second half was silly martyrdom without any communication to fall back on. Hadn't they figured out after 10 years of not being together that secrets will just bite you in the end?!?
Having said that, its sweet, sexy and men in uniform are great. Doc and Grandpa are amazing and the MCs were great together.

Ended up finishing this out of spite. INCREDIBLE plot that was ruined by the climax.

Well, I liked this better than the last one in this series. But I'm not really sure that these books are for me. They fell kind of generic... too dependent on the 'standard" MM Romance template. It is so obvious that these books didn't start with a inspired premise... It seems the commission came before the idea itself. I know that many Mm Romance books are not created from a "divine" inspiration, but from what sells. But they might still try and break the mold and create something original.
It's not because these books are poorly written or poor quality, but I'm probably just a little tired of reading books created because they are commissioned by a publisher. I don't really know how to explain what my problem is exactly. It's probably just a discussion about whether the chicken or the egg came first. Here it was obviously the roasted chicken that came first.
There are definitely things I like about the premise for the series and the characters. But none of the characters really hit me. I can't feel any of them. The "everlasting', almost insta-love between the MCs - even though there's some hurt (with good reason), and the self-sacrificing that just goes on and on and on. The typical crisis that ALMOST cause trouble between them that always come about 75% into the book. But of course they will conquer all their ordeals in the next 10-15% of the book, so that we can get on to The Great Epilogue with the obvious marriage and happy-ever-after. It was just too much. At least for me right now.

I really enjoyed this third installment. I'm really loving this series so far. Otto is the middle child of the ten children - of which West (and Hudson) is a part of - and he and Saint, his brother, were in the Navy for ten years until they came back in the the last book.
In this book we learn what Otto's deal was with Seth Walker, and why he took the chance to run all the way to Europe to get away from him.
I was annoyed that he ran without listening to Seth, and that just felt too cliche, and how it took them like five months to even talk to each other fully.
But they did have great chemistry and once they got together it was good, although it kinda dragged near the end - and I got pissed
Like...people should face the consequences for their actions, not have someone take the fall for them. That won't teach them any fucking thing. (Thank god it all worked out though.)
I was happy though that while Jolie started out as a bitch, and seemed to be going the direction of a lot of female character in M/M romance tend to do, that she ended up being good in the end and nicer and moving on with her life too. She deserved that and I was happy when she finally realized that.
Overall I very much enjoyed this, and Otto and Seth had amazing chemistry that I definitely felt coming off the page. Only had two annoyances through the book, but overall it didn't deter my enjoyment of the book all that much.

Spoiler
at how Otto was ready to take the fall for the arson that had happened on Seth's nephew's behalf. I get what he was trying to do, but it was annoying and unnecessarily self sacrificing. Like the fuck??? They already waited ten years and he was gonna let them wait another two fucking years??? I was pissed off. But mainly with how Otto didn't say shit to Seth about what he planned to do, and he so he was lying to Seth's face for days, weeks, and not saying anything even when Seth asked him to. However noble the reason, it was stupid, and it felt like it happened just to drag the drama out even more. At least the kid finally confessed and he didn't turn out to be a total shithead.Like...people should face the consequences for their actions, not have someone take the fall for them. This book had some seriously eye roll inducing moments of dumb decisions manufactured to increase the drama, but I can't lie - the love and devotion of these two characters towards each other warmed my tiny, cold heart.

I love this series, but there isn’t much she writes that I don’t love. I hope to see where they’re lives went in the next book. I hope all couples for this fabulous family make an appearance in it.
