The cover, Trinidadian vibes and culture were great. The FMC was ok. The pacing felt a bit choppy. I wish there was more exploration into why they both “hated” each other. It really felt like an instant love with some forced tension and less enemies to lovers. The last minute third act breakup was not needed. Especially 95% of the way into the story with such a quick gloss over it. Otherwise this was a quick ok read. I’m not sure if I’ll continue with this series or not.
The chemistry was fine I guess and some of their banter quite funny but all in all just way to predictable and often a bit annoying
this book was pretty good, but lagged a bit at times (but that might have just been me as I’ve been a bit burnt out)

A cute easy enemies to lovers read to pass a couple hours on an interminable flight!!
needed a romcom refresher, a bit boring and the mcs cannot be nearing thirty!
2.5 stars. Didn’t love. First half was full of a loose basis for their being “enemies”. It made no sense. And they were both so petty about it. Like Kiernan wouldn’t even taste her desserts out of some weird spite but also claimed to have a crush on her? Like how old are they? The whole premise was just weak for me. And it took 50% of the book to even get them on the end path.
Idk. Wasn’t terrible but I also wasn’t sad when I finally finished.
Also. Pet peeve of mine: it’s not dual POV. The entire thing is written in the third person. So we don’t need little headers with whose POV it is because it’s told in third person. Why do publishers/authors do this?
