What the fork?! Really?! Each book gets sadder with how it’s written and it’s depressing. I will of course see it to the end but it’s getting harder.
Lula wasn’t herself. Guess we’ll blame the moons?
Grandma was tame? Not much appearance from Morelli or Ranger. Diesels back but still bland.
We have the normals - guns shot, explosions, dead bodies, viewings, Stephanie getting kidnapped and saved.

Obsessed with this series!

I’ve been reading this series since I was a teenager (over a decade ago— oof) so I don’t know if it’s the nostalgia that keeps me going or what lol. I’ll say my taste as a reader has changed. I don’t read as many cozy mysteries like this.

I love jumping back into Stephanie’s shenanigans and her entire family. You get exactly what you expect at this point. These stories are predictable in a way that I enjoy, so it kind of makes them comfort reads for me.

That being said— I now hate love triangles / cheating in books. There’s no way in hell I’d let someone lead me on without commitment as long as she’s done. Like.. just pick one or neither or move on, please.

I was caught around 3-4 stars for this, but again, nostalgia? I don’t know.

I don’t know why I keep reading. I’m kinda invested I want to know the end of the story but I don’t think there ever will be one.
There are still the same 2.5 guys she is undecided on. She still gets annoyed when Morelli seems like he’s with someone else while she kissing Ranger on the side.

So many passages I swear are just copy pasted from previous books. Every intro to places and characters. It’s honestly probably more noticeable to me as I had not read these since 2017 and just read 24-28 in the space of a week.
Thanks goodness my library has these as I’ve given up on having the physical books
And also there is a slew of side character Cameos to set up other series or remind us of other series but they don’t add anything to the Stephanie plum books we’re reading.
I swear I’ve also been saying this since book 10 but my goodness pick one of the love interests. If you don’t want marriage go with Ranger if you commitment and the ring stop hanging on to Ranger and commit to Morelli. Or just be casual with both and live your best life but be honest about it.

Diesel is back and looking for a dangerous hacker named Oswald Wednesday. Oswald has been killing other hackers known as the Baked Potatoes who, in trying to impress Oswald, hacked into his system and found something he didn't want anyone to know. Oswald is on Stephanie's radar because he skipped out on his bail after being arrested for substituting a porn film for news. Diesel has been tasked by his mysterious Auntie to apprehend Oswald, so he and Stephanie team up to find Oswald, and hilarity ensues.

Game On: Tempting Twenty-Eight is a hilarious addition to the Stephanie Plum series. Diesel's presence shakes up the status quo and adds another level of fun to an already rollicking story. All of the usual characters and events are packed into this fast paced, quick read with multiple laugh out loud moments paired with an interesting mystery. We learn a little more about the character of Diesel and his mysterious organization as well as the curious Wulf. Overall, Game On: Tempting Twenty-Eight is a rip-roaring adventure and a very enjoyable read. 4 1/2 stars.

Stephanie and Lula doing their thing. Diesel makes an appearance in this one. 3.5 stars

TBH, I’m happy to be done with this series. Will I read any new books? Yes, but it gives me greys anatomy feels, sometimes series last too long. This is an example of that.

Somehow I missed this one. This one was actually kind of fun. Diesel is back in town, and surprise-surprise... they're both after the same perp.

Oswald Wednesday is a millionaire hacker who has caused issues with Diesel's employer. Stephanie is on his tracks because he's an FTA - he broke into a cop's house.

Oswald is tracking and eliminating a group of hackers (Potatoes) who has derailed his nefarious plot. A few of those hackers live in Trenton. Stephanie & Diesel realize this .. and race to protect those they can track down.

Lulu is having a VERY BAD LUCK week. Her moon apparently is in a bad spot & she has one weird mishap after another, freeing Step to work more closely with Diesel.

Morrelli & Ranger have VERY brief appearances, that's par for books with Diesel.

Steph is still with Morrelli ... and the mystery of Steph's mom's knitting book 29 makes MUCH more sense now.
