I would have loved seeing more descriptions of the fair ones, and therefore a bit more content to the story, but I'd still say this book left me satisfied. I knew how the story ends before I started reading it, and yet getting to the end was exhilarating. Finishing this experience felt like the biggest sigh of relief just pouring out of me - in a good way. Tip: if you like Holly Black's Folk of the Air series, this book will probably be up your alley.

A standalone fantasy with very cozy autumn vibes and a rather light-hearted, easy to read story.
The book left a lot of questions unanswered in my opinion, and the ending felt rushed. I also didn't particularly like the insta-love, although that is rather a personal preference.

I enjoyed this book, and it was a nice break after reading a very heavy, in depth duology. It's very reminiscent of a retelling of A Midsummer Night's Dream, reminding me of the Iron King and another novel I read as a child (which escapes me at this time).

I found this book improved upon the lore of the world, but suffers from the author's previous problem of not giving me enough to work with, this time it is character-wise.  In A Sorcery of Thorns, I found the characters compelling, but the story only picking up in the latter half. This one seems to do the reverse, and leaves me wanting more from our leads.

I do enjoy Isobel and Rook, and think they're quite interesting as both protaganists and as a pair, but I felt they could have grown a lot more. They seemed stunted, in some way, and I didn't find myself connecting to either.

However, the world building was quite lovely, and reminiscent of more recent reinterpretations of the faerie world.  I loved the idea of "Craft" and how faeries cannot create, but rather create illusions to maintain their possessions. Their use of contracts and trickery, and the ways Isobel has to carefully word and request payment for her works, is a nice touch and something I'd like to see more of in true faerie-centred novels.

I think this is a nice pallette cleanser for those wanting a cute fae romance, and a solid happy ending for both characters.

In terms of sheer enjoyment of the storytelling, this 5 stars. But there's not quite enough explanation about the backstory of the fairfolk for me. Like I don't know how they become fairfolk- is it sexual reproduction? Humans turned into them?
And if none of them can really feel true human emotions, how can any of them fall in love with a human? And what happens to Aster or the hunter?
I think this needs to be a duology to fit the amount of answer I need. Isobel doesn't need to be 17 and I really wish she wasn't bc of the ending. She could be 21 or 22 and still be the exact same character.

I'm thrilled to announce that I can add another book to my very short list of faerie/fairy novels that I loved!

Over the years, I've become increasingly picky about this particular paranormal creature and the books written about them.
An Enchantment of Ravens did an excellent job navigating the intricacies of things like The Wild Hunt, glamours, and how tricky these creatures really are. I loved the way characters like Rook, Gadfly, and Lark were written.

This book is filled with adventure, gorgeous quotes, beautiful descriptions, and tons of fantastic atmosphere. I really felt as though I was experiencing the different courts as Isobel wandered through them. I could see the summerlands, the autumn trees, and the spring colors. It was magnificent to read!

The romance was just the slightest bit strange to me. While it started out in a very sweet, forbidden love manner, it kind of picked up the pace too quickly for me after that. This is 100% a personal preference. I just enjoy a slow-burn rather than an insta-love feeling. Not that it was quite insta-love either, but it really did move along rapidly after the quarter mark in the book.

The ending, while predictable, was quite fun to read.
I honestly hope that in the future, Margaret decides to write a sequel for this one, because I'd love to find out what happens to Isobel and Rook later on in life!

3.5 stars for the autumnal vibes, nature writing, and depiction of fae folk.

Unfortunately, this book suffers from insta-love and the "she's not like other girls" trope. Also the age gap is a tad creepy, but at least the male love interest isn't as creepy as a certain sparkly vampire. And the MC has an actual personality.

This was a cute YA fantasy. I didn’t feel attached to the love story as it was predictable and nothing really happened to make them “fall in love”. There was no build up, just simply felt after a few days together- which sure is how love works but still feel it missed out on a romance building instead of just happening.

The fantasy world made sense without over explanation, which I appreciated as fantasy novels are not my go-to.
