Review & placeholder for the entire series. A lovely, odd love story.

I liked this first Volume of The Water Dragon's Bride. This is the second series that I've started by Rei Toma. I like her art style and the stories she tells. I'm looking forward to continuing the volumes to see what happens to Asahi, Subaru, and the water dragon god.

My first manga & I really enjoyed it! I liked the artwork & the story. I can't wait to get my hands on the next volumes!

The art is incredibly delicate and pretty, but I'm still on the fence whether I want to continue the rest of this series or not. The main character Asahi is put in a very difficult situation, which is made more heartbreaking because of her age. In the new world she finds herself in, she has to deal with a lot of cruelty and suffering and darkness that would've mentally broken a person twice or three times her age. So, I may continue to read this manga if only to see how her resilience breaks through all of the obstacles that will be placed in her way. And I'm also curious about her friend Subaru, the only person who was kind to her, and what he plans to do in future volumes.

This is a super dark isekai.

A little weird, but I kind of like it. Although the story seems a little too familiar with all the other magical gods/boys and "normal girl" story lines I have read like Kamisama Kiss, Inuyasha, The Ancient Magus Bride, just to name a few. Still deciding on this one though, but I am willing to give it a try and read more.
