Brilliant piece of fiction. Love the way the author repeats the same incident through different characters' points-of-view.
My only complaint about the book is that some of the moral lessons are a little heavy handed.

Just not my cup of tea with the characters, sex and adulterous actions.

This book is like a little study of humanity, and I love it for that. I often wonder what people might go through in their lives, what their dreams and motivations are, and Fishbowl is like a window into what some of those lives could look like.
It never left me bored, and every time it switched characters I was both annoyed to have to move on and excited to pick up where we left another character. And it all ties together so neatly, it's just a blast to see all the connections unravel.

This book sounded great, but in reality was not at all. Some of the characters you instantly warmed to but the rest were annoying and frankly tedious. The gold fish perspective didn't work for me, would have preferred it written as told for the 'super' who cares for the building but for the most part going wholly un-noticed.

I received this from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Looking past the whole goldfish thing, this novel is about the inhabitants of an apartment building, their lives, and the interconnections between them. It's a bit twee at times, and it kind of reminded me of The Mezzanine at times, but with the focus on the people rather than a protagonist's thoughts. Overall, it's a decent tale that will have you thinking about the people that you pass by on a daily basis.

It's very rare for me not to finish a book but this was one of those occasions. The best thing about this book was the chapter titles, they gave the promise that something interesting would happen in the chapter but that just wasn't the case. I found myself reading whole pages and thinking afterwards that I could have skipped those pages without losing anything at all. I got this book in a charity shop and that's where it will be returning, hopefully the next person that reads it will enjoy it more than I did.
