Flew through this book. The twists were unexpected and some a little far fetched but a sold thriller nevertheless.

I appreciated the unique story telling with the screenshots paralleling the book’s narrative, but I just couldn’t connect to the characters.

I didn’t care for any of the characters and therefor I didn’t care about the story.

Very reminiscent of Survive The Night by Riley Sager. I actually preferred Run Times execution of the screenplay being interwoven, but preferred Sager’s narrative.

Well, this book is getting so many mixed reviews and now ai can see why. My head is still trying to comprehend what I just listened to. I really liked it for about 70% and then as the ending was being revealed I found myself shaking my head a lot. I didn’t hate the ending but it was a bit much, even for me.

The premise of this book was interesting. A book inside a screenplay, being made into a movie. It was a little confusing at times on audio if you aren’t paying 100% attention, although they did a really good job at making the distinction between reality and fiction. The narration was really well done and ai loved the accents.

Adele was such a frustrating character! I just wanted to shake her!

The story was creepy and clever, but I felt the ending let it down a bit, the reasoning for what was happen just a bit weak.

Thanks to Blackstone Publishing and NetGalley for my advanced listening copy of Run Time to read. It is out now.

It has an interesting plot, but I simply lost interest as time went by. It’s not so much the book, but picking it up at the wrong time.

Run time is a slow-burning psychological thriller and once I got my head around the interwoven movie script and the novel within a novel (I’m easily confused) I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I love a locked-room style mystery in an isolated location and the setting in this one is perfect; the cold, dark, remote forest provides an eerie backdrop to the story and gives it a claustrophobic, creepy atmosphere and a prickly sense of foreboding that lingers throughout.

The characters are well-written, rounded and relatable — I was never quite sure who to trust.

Run Time has plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing and some tense, nail-biting moments. This was my first Catherine Ryan Howard and certainly won’t be my last.

Many thanks to the publisher for my proof copy, in exchange for an honest, unbiased review.
