Intercepted ★★★★☆
Fumbled ★★★☆☆

After devouring the first two books of this series this month, I was super excited to get to Brynn’s story. She came off so sassy and I just knew I would love her book. Sadly friends, that didn’t happen.

What I did enjoy from this book was being back in the Mustang community and the friendship between the women. Every time these ladies are together I never fail to laugh. The way they are so in tune with one another and so protective of each other never seems to amaze me.

The actual story between Brynn and Maxwell? I don’t know another word for how I felt while reading except boring. I didn’t feel any chemistry between them and the turn from friendship to romance wasn’t believable to me. I can’t love a romance novel if there isn’t a romance to actually root for.

Besides the romance not being what I expected, the biggest disappointment for me was Brynn. I really don’t believe that this was the woman who was so sassy and had the best concept for a bar. It’s like she was a watered down version of the person we got to see in previous books. She came off a bit immature and almost whiney. I also didn’t like some of the choices that her character made.

While this didn’t live up to my expectations, I still plan on continuing this series and I hope the next book will be about Eloise!

Everything

Brynn and Maxwell’s story was everything! I have thoroughly enjoyed this series and all the characters in it and what I love the most is how the stories connect seamlessly. I can’t wait for book 4 to be released! Alexa Martin, keep them coming!!!

For a ‘romance’ book this one had less interaction between the protagonists and much more about Brynn and her place in her circle of friends, family and her place in society. The drama was a little late to come and easy to resolve but, nevertheless a good read

Yeah. I do not rec this one. I was going to DNF but turns out all the plot starts at the end of the book.

I love these books but I feel like the endings are almost too quick. Could easily squeeze another hundred pages out of this story... Here's hoping

This was a fun read but I found the character of Brynn inconsistent and didn't care for the twist with Max's brother.

I loved the beginning of this book, but I just didn't like the conflict and how it ended. It just felt out of place for the whole book. I liked both Maxwell and Brynn's characters, but felt that it just didn't focus on their relationship enough. There was to much "other stuff" in there that didn't even really play into the relationship at all.

The third book in the Playbook series follows Brynn, the owner of a woman-centered bar in Denver. I would have loved to go to a bar like HERS, especially during football season. I enjoyed reading this book.n It was better than Book 2 but not as good as Book 1. I loved Brynn’s no nonsense attitude and her style. I did want more about Brynn’s mom and the situation with Theo but overall I enjoyed the story.
