Even making this book all pictures couldn't save it from how completely uninterested in this story I am. It's a cool concept! The art is really neat! But I just...can't seem to click with it, which has always been disappointing to me.
I tried, and therefore no one should criticize me.

This took me a long time to read...it never held my interest for very long, but I was determined to finish it. I really enjoyed the original novel, and since I enjoy graphic novels, thought it would be a win-win situation...alas, I was wrong.
The text of the adaptation was fine, it was the illustrations that threw me off. The blue/black/white only ended up getting to me after awhile. My eyes ached for another color. Why the cover shows otherwise is a mystery to me. I guess, I'm just not a fan of Larson's work...apparently, from other reviews, she has a fan-base, but it's just not my style.

When I opened the package that contained this book, I gasped, then clasped it to my chest. LOVELOVELOVE what Hope Larson did with this.
Now. That said, I will admit that I didn't actually read it cover to cover. It's too much like watching the movie of this landmark book that's been a part of my life since 6th grade. I like the visuals that are in my own mind. But I read enough to see that Larson stayed extremely true to the story. Practically word for word.
I'll take this copy to school, but I'll have to have another copy to keep with my original Scholastic paperback and the hardback and paperbacks of the 50th anniversary editions.

No shade on the graphic novel - I wasn’t into the story. I think I read the original when I was 10, but I didn’t remember it, and it just wasn’t for me.
"A Wrinkle in Time" is the first time I've read a graphic novel adaption of a book. I don't know if this is typical of graphic novel adaptions, but the story was pretty much exactly following the book- even down to the dialogue. However, the ending felt a tad rushed - I remember that scene taking a while in the book, but in the graphic novel, it only lasted for one or two pages.
I will say that the characters looked a lot like how I imagined them. However, I feel like the story would've worked better with a more colorful, detailed art style.
It's a good adaption altogether, and I enjoyed it; so three stars.

3.5 stars - a well drawn, enjoyable adaptation but I felt it lacked something... Maybe detail in the storytelling? The build up was compelling but then major end scenes felt hollow.
I wanted to read this book as the Disney adaptation had just been released. for a graphic novel this took a while a four hundred paged one but a graphic novel nonetheless. The main character was super annoying and I kinda hated her the idea was clever but their was no great writing since it only said what was being said and the rare thought thrown in in fear of it being lacked of explanation I didn’t connect with this story but me not liking Si-fi I kinda figured..... I hope actually now people in this world enjoyed this more than myself.
Si acaso es posible mezclar la ciencia y la religión sin que parezcan separadas la una de la otra de mejor manera que esta?
