2.5 stars. I’m sure the resilience project does great work, but as others have pointed out this book felt light on substance and heavy on the sports talk. I frequently found myself wondering what the point of a particular anecdote was. Look else where if you are wanting a guide to incorporating more gratitude, empathy and mindfulness into your life.

It also really bothers me when speakers/authors use poor & disabled people as props to “wake up” people who have it better. No one wins in the hard ship olympics and the fetishisation of these people is unnecessary.

I started out reading it but largely listened to the Audible version which made it more engaging!
I laughed and cried with all the stories Hugh shared.
A simple message with profound carry on affect.

So glad I happened to pick up this book and buy it. It couldn't have come at a better time. The stories are inspiring, emotional and heart-warming, but the message is the thing that drives this book home for me. 10/10 recommend giving it a read.

SUCH an easy and worthwhile listen. He really genuinely cares, and that comes across in his story

I really like the idea of a daily gratitude practice. Like journaling or meditating first thing in the morning...

Some interesting insights and stories, but I felt like there was a lot of ego...

All the stories about the sports celebs he helped... did anyone else think it was odd that a footballer went out and got a tattoo as a result of a talk from a stranger, even if he was supposed to be an expert’?!
