As with the previous edition, it did not disappoint. The characters are well-developed and are beyond enjoyable. The Belles themselves richly and expertly rendered; alive with color, depth and allure. The whole novel reads as some sumptuously tiered and decorated creme cake. An exquisitely displayed pastry we have all been invited to dine on and participate in its decadence. I can not express enough to you how much I enjoyed continuing my need for the beauty work of each of Ms. Clayton's characters. Beginning with the rivalry of Amber and Camille; to the forbidden love of Camille and Remi. I hope that I do not fall into oblivion of the Grie, while I wait for the sequel to this novel. It would be a shame for me to become a Maniacal Wasp Teacup Pet like Princess Sofia. Such a shame that would be, don't you think?

I like the story line, very different form anything else I have read but this book feels rushed and unfinished. The end was a disappointment, was expecting a big battle of some sort, but was nothing like that. Glad to have read the series so far though.

I really hate that her sister died before she could give any explanation for her actions.

This follow up to The Belles sugary sweet tale of beauty is and epic read . I enjoyed this book and love the portrayal of life in luxury compared to life in the Gris ( the un beauties ) . Camilla is a sassy , smart , brave , and bold leading lady . She loves hard and has a grounds for good moral code . I enjoyed the Royals and Rebels and the path they all chose and the fates intertwined. The love Interest are sweet and was happy with the ending of this Duo !

I was excited to finally continue where the story ended, but this book felt rushed. A lot happened and there was a lot to unpack. Not entirely sure where the third book will jump off from, but excited to see what comes next.

Listened on audible. Great narrator.
Action packed, maybe a tiny bit rushed BUT still really good. I enjoyed the characters and the plot. Very interesting world and dhonielle does such a good job at descriptive writing and making things sound so yummy and beautiful!!
And I want teacup animals. (Jk, not in real life because that just leads to all sorts of problems. 😂😂)

I enjoyed this conclusion to the Belles saga. Some interesting developments and a satisfying end.

Disappointing. I LOVED the first Belles book, and once I read a recap I was ready for this one. But...nothing happens. For like, 90% of the book. There's some really interesting stuff like glamour and whatever the hell Camille does at the end, and then, it's just over. I'm more frustrated than disappointed, since this easily could have been a trilogy with a more fleshed-out ending.

Wraps up the story from the first volume nicely, but I think I would have enjoyed it more had I re-read the first book right before. I had trouble keeping track of some of the many minor characters.

2.5, rounded up to three stars. This duology has a lot of potential but I felt it didn’t live up to it. It’s an interesting plot line but the execution left something to be desired. I found some of the writing very repetitive and dense, especially describing literally everything with pastry imagery. One of the reasons I read the second book after being less than impressed with the first was the promise of this alternative culture of the Iron Ladies but I felt the author didn’t do that subculture justice and most of the book was focused on what seemed to be a long and pointless chase.
