Great communication, hot sex, good friends. Navigating a move to engaged.

In my last review, when I said the hurdles only lasted for a few pages, it wasn't a call for a book long fight. I sadly barely liked this follow-up. Both MC's were so annoying to me.
Throughout the whole book, I wanted to force Kayla to get out of her head and communicate with her partner. She seemed unhappy through the entire story which didn't make it great for me as a reader. More moments of fun and intimacy would've greatly helped me connect with the couple a lot more.
I truly hope this turns out to be a great character arch where Kayla learns that she doesn't have to take care of everyone at her expense. In the next book, I would like to see her speak up and take the space she needs.

Compared to the previous book, there were definitely more emotions articulated. I did not understand why Kayla was upset about the prenuptial agreement, though. I thought that was necessary, though they could have arranged it together. I did not care much about the NBA stuffs, but all the business made sense to brew the small conflict of the book. Holger became yet another favorite character of the series. I love the gap moe and his aversion-turned-affection towards the puppies.

While this wasn't quite as captivating for me as the first book I enjoyed this continuation of Michael and Kayla's story. The proposal did make me laugh because of how underwhelming it was - definitely not what I would have expected from Michael. I continue to love how supportive they are of each other and how they surround themselves with good people who truly love them.

I love these ridiculous little books so much. There's no plot and very little conflict. It's mostly just two people being happy together.
